The next morning, Luo Wei got up from his bed, hurriedly finished breakfast, and went out with the hair restorer in hand.
As he walked through the streets, his eyes darted around, scanning every reflection in sight. He was looking for a suitable test subject—someone who needed his newly developed formula.
Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks as a thought struck him.
Wait a minute… wasn't the owner of the tailor shop bald when I bought my satchel?
With that realization, Luo Wei immediately changed direction and headed straight for the tailor shop. It didn't take long before he arrived at his destination. He looked up at the signboard, which read: Taylor Tailor.
As soon as he stepped inside, Boss Taylor, the tailor shop owner, glanced at him and said casually, "What do you need? Look around for yourself."
Luo Wei hesitated for a moment, then looked directly at the man's head—a perfect example of a receding hairline forming a shiny bald spot. "Mr. Taylor… are you troubled by your hair loss?"
Taylor's expression darkened. He frowned and folded his arms, clearly displeased. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
Luo Wei remained calm. "Well, actually, I wanted to recommend a hair growth formula to you. It's a brand-new product, unlike anything you've seen before. I assure you—"
"If you're not here to buy clothes, then you can leave." Boss Taylor waved his hand impatiently, cutting him off.
"I promise it actually works," Luo Wei insisted, quickly taking out the crystal bottle from his bag.
But before he could continue his pitch, Taylor was already moving toward him, ready to shoo him out. "Even if I lost every single hair on my body, I still wouldn't use a hair restorer! So now, please leave."
Luo Wei quickly blurted out, "Only five runes!"
Taylor froze mid-step. His expression shifted, and he turned back, eyeing Luo Wei with suspicion. "Five runes?"
Luo Wei nodded. "You know that hair restorers that actually work on Asgardians are expensive. They cost at least a dozen runes."
Taylor hesitated, frowning as he mulled over the offer.
Compared to the usual cost of hair restoration treatments, five runes was indeed a low price. However, for many Asgardians, five runes was still a decent sum—not something to spend carelessly.
If a woman faced baldness, she wouldn't hesitate to pay fifty runes, let alone five. But for men, it was a different story.
Taylor rubbed his chin before asking, "Can you make it cheaper?"
"This is already a bargain," Luo Wei countered. "Five runes, and you can have a full head of hair again—just like in your younger days."
"I was bald when I was young," Taylor deadpanned.
"Uh… well…" Luo Wei was momentarily speechless. Then he quickly recovered and continued, "I believe five runes is not much for you. Just think about it—five runes could change your life. Wouldn't you want to experience that?"
Taylor thought it over before finally nodding. "Alright. But you have to guarantee it works."
"Of course," Luo Wei assured him, handing over the Andorov Hair Restorer. "If it doesn't work, I'll give you a full refund."
Taylor studied the crystal bottle, then asked, "How do I use it?"
"Just apply it to the bald areas."
Taylor uncorked the bottle, poured a bit of the formula into his hand, and rubbed it onto his scalp. "Feels a little tingly."
"That's normal," Luo Wei said.
"How long until I see results?"
"Generally, within three days, you'll notice a difference," Luo Wei replied with confidence. "I'll return in three days—I believe you'll be very happy to pay by then."
Three Days Later
Luo Wei returned to Taylor Tailor. As soon as he entered, he saw Boss Taylor staring at himself in a mirror, rubbing his head excitedly.
His previously bare scalp was now covered with a thin layer of stubble.
"It looks like the hair restorer didn't disappoint you, Mr. Taylor," Luo Wei remarked with a smile.
"Haha! You were right!" Taylor laughed heartily. He put down the mirror but kept running his fingers over his growing hair. "This stuff is incredible. I actually started feeling the stubble on the second day!"
He reached into his pocket, pulled out five runes, and handed them to Luo Wei. "Here you go. I'm more than satisfied!"
Luo Wei accepted the payment with a grin. "I wish you a wonderful life with your new hair!"
"Ha! You bet!"
Leaving the tailor shop, Luo Wei weighed the coins in his hand, humming a tune.
Five runes… That's almost my annual income.
If I keep making money at this rate, I'll be able to forge the Fist of Verrigan in no time.
The Holy Light is merciful. I hope Asgard has more bald people.
Back at home, Luo Wei picked up a small bronze object and placed it over the blueprint for the Fist of Verrigan.
A line of text appeared:
[81% replacement for Jordan's Refined Ore]
Asgardian bronze wasn't particularly rare in Asgard, but on a universal scale, it was an exceptional material.
With an 81% compatibility rating, Luo Wei felt satisfied.
Of course, Asgard had even stronger materials, such as Asgardian Iron, Asgardian Steel, and even Uru, the mystical metal used to forge Mjolnir. But those materials were beyond his budget.
Even if he could afford them, he wouldn't waste them on the Fist of Verrigan.
Although the gauntlet was powerful, it wasn't high-level gear.
Someday, when I have money, I won't need this anymore. I'll wield Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker in my left hand and Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros in my right…
Landveti Town
Luo Wei entered a herbal shop. "Do you have any Green Chip Grass?"
The shopkeeper raised an eyebrow. "You're looking for Green Chip Grass?"
"Yes," Luo Wei nodded.
Peter's herbal shop only had one Green Chip Grass left, and he couldn't risk using it. Even if El managed to get one for him, Uncle Peter would find out, and that would create unnecessary trouble.
The shopkeeper sighed. "Green Chip Grass is rare and not in high demand. We had one, but we used it recently. We don't have any in stock at the moment."
"And even if we did, we wouldn't sell the last one unless you were willing to pay a high price."
Luo Wei sighed in disappointment. He had already asked multiple herbal shops, but he still couldn't find what he needed.
Yesterday, I thought I was about to get rich. I never expected such a roadblock.
Seems like making a fortune isn't that easy after all.
Luo Wei turned to leave.
"Wait."
The shopkeeper suddenly called out to him.
Luo Wei stopped and turned back. "What is it?"
"If you're looking for Green Chip Grass, you should check the Brave Hunter Tavern. There's a man named Tialfi who goes hunting in the Landveti Forest every day. He sometimes brings back herbs, including Green Chip Grass. Maybe you'll get lucky."
