Chapter 31: A Gamble Worth Taking

Kiyoshi let out a tired sigh as he reached home, shutting the door behind him. His entire body ached from the intense training session with Tsunade, his clothes covered in dust from their spar. Stripping off the dirtied fabric, he tossed them into a pile and headed to wash up.

The cool water was refreshing, easing the tension in his muscles, but it did little to clear his mind. Even after drying off and changing into fresh clothes, one thought refused to leave him.

Tsunade's offer.

Learning Chakra-Enhanced Strength from her was a no-brainer. He had seen what it was capable of in his past life—from Tsunade turning battlefields into rubble with a single punch to Jiraiya, a legendary Sannin, actively fearing her wrath. Even Sakura, after training under her, had used the technique to devastate entire forces. If he could integrate that into his fighting style, his close-combat abilities would skyrocket.

But that wasn't the only thing on his mind.

Medical Ninjutsu.

Tsunade wasn't just a powerhouse—she was the greatest medical-nin the shinobi world had ever known. If he could learn even a fraction of her knowledge, it could open countless possibilities. The problem was—he knew she wouldn't agree to train him just because he asked.

Even in the original timeline, Sakura had to prove herself before Tsunade accepted her as a student. She had exceptional chakra control and relentless determination, yet she still struggled under Tsunade's training.

Kiyoshi had neither of those things—at least, not when it came to medical-nin training.

Would Tsunade even consider him for such training? Probably not. And he wasn't about to waste time trying to convince her.

Start small. That was the best approach. He could nudge Tsunade in the right direction—subtly influencing her choices and eventually triggering the Special Event Spin.

And if he played his cards right… that could lead him to a Legendary Spin.

The Gacha System

Kiyoshi exhaled and pulled up the familiar interface.

---

[Gacha System]

Storage: 2 Common Spins saved (48 empty slots)

Guaranteed Uncommon Spin: 3 days remaining

Guaranteed Rare Spin: 18 days remaining

Guaranteed Epic Spin: 58 days remaining.

---

His eyes lingered on the numbers, debating his next move.

If he waited 58 more days, he'd be guaranteed an Epic Spin—a power-up that could change everything. But if he used his spins now, the system would prioritize Common Spins first due to its last upgrade.

That meant that if he wanted to store higher-tier spins in the future, he'd need to fill up all 48 remaining slots first.

Did he want to wait two months for a guaranteed boost? Or should he take a gamble now?

After a moment of hesitation, he shook his head.

No.

Waiting two months was the right choice—the safe choice.

With Tsunade personally training him, his growth would skyrocket. And Kenshiro-sensei was still guiding him, ensuring his foundation remained solid.

There is also the Chakra Affinity Booster, which gives him five times the normal chakra growth. This means that even if he doesn't do anything, his chakra will grow at a much faster rate than that of his peers.

Most importantly—he was in Konoha.

This was the safest place for him to grow. The Third Great Ninja War was still at least nine to ten years away. If Minato was around nine years old now, and the war took place when he was about nineteen or twenty, Kiyoshi had time.

Time to train.

Time to grow stronger.

Time to prepare.

Rushing things now would be foolish. Instead, he would play it safe.

Letting out a breath, he dismissed the system and climbed into bed. His body still ached, but his mind was finally at ease.

Tomorrow marked the first day of training under Tsunade.

And he needed all the rest he could get.

---

The Next Morning

Kiyoshi woke early, feeling refreshed. His body still carried some soreness, but nothing unbearable. He quickly washed up, dressed in his training gear, and headed toward Tsunade's residence.

But the moment he arrived—

Silence.

Frowning, he knocked on the courtyard door. No response.

Not that he was surprised.

He knocked again. Still nothing.

After a few more tries, he sighed, crossing his arms. Did she seriously sleep in?

Just as he was about to knock again, a presence appeared behind him.

He turned—only to see a masked ANBU standing there.

The shinobi's voice was calm but firm. "State your name and business."

Kiyoshi blinked before realization hit him.

Mito Uzumaki and Kushina's residence must be nearby. That explained the ANBU presence.

Before he could answer, a sleepy voice called from inside.

"He's fine… Let him in…"

The ANBU hesitated for only a moment before vanishing from sight.

Kiyoshi turned toward the voice—only to freeze.

Tsunade stood in the doorway, dressed in her nightwear.

Her golden hair was disheveled, her robe loosely hanging over her shoulders, revealing a very distracting amount of skin.

Kiyoshi immediately looked away, staring firmly at the ground.

"…Your garb is messed up," he muttered.

Tsunade yawned, lazily glancing at herself before shrugging. "Yeah, yeah… I'll change. Go warm up or something."

Not waiting for a response, she turned and disappeared back inside.

Kiyoshi exhaled slowly.

This is going to be a long day.

Training Begins

By the time Tsunade returned—dressed properly, thankfully—Kiyoshi had already finished his warm-ups.

She studied him for a moment before speaking. "Alright, let's start. What do you understand about chakra enhancement?"

Kiyoshi answered without hesitation. "Shinobi use chakra to enhance their physical abilities beyond human limits. By training the body and chakra pathways, they can increase their strength, speed, and senses."

Tsunade raised a brow, but she nodded in approval. "Not bad."

She then went on to explain:

Chakra enhancement allows shinobi to perform superhuman feats like jumping over buildings or running on water.

Shinobi can focus chakra into specific body parts to boost strength, speed, durability, and senses. With enough practice, this becomes instinctive.

However, there are limits. Focusing too much chakra into one area can cause severe injuries due to overexertion.

"Which is why," she continued, "you need precise chakra control."

Kiyoshi nodded, already familiar with the basics. But Tsunade wasn't finished.

She smirked. "Now, let's see how good your control really is."

And with that, the real training began.

Step One: Precise Chakra Control.

Leaf Concentration Exercise – Keeping a leaf stuck to his forehead using only chakra.

Tree Climbing Training – Walking up vertical surfaces without using his hands.

Water Walking – Maintaining constant chakra output to stand on water.

Tsunade watched as he struggled with the water walking. He could do it, but his control wasn't flawless.

"You're gonna need to fix that," she remarked. "Because if you can't, you'll never master it.

Kiyoshi sighed.

This really is going to be a long day.
