Chapter 6 - Minor Roadblock

3 was pushing out her roh in waves, it was like a heart beat which I couldn't hear however through my own roh could feel.

through my roh I felt the rhythmic beating of her roh, along side was her breathing and presumably her own heart.

That last part was a guess but as far as guesses went I was pretty certain.

I quickly stopped paying attention to her and instead focused on my own breathing and heart.

I couldn't feel my heart at all however, I knew it was still beating but of course I couldn't exactly feel it so I did the next best thing.

'Its right around here right?'

I was trying to find a spot on my neck where I remembered you could feel a strong pulse and sure enough I found it. Well at least I think I did, either way it hardly mattered.

After a moment I got my breathing in line with my heart beats, nothing changed in my roh so I tried to sense it in the same rhythmic pattern.

Still nothing happened.

'Its like trying to move your hair just by thinking of it, like I can feel my hair but no amount of trying will move the damn thing on its own.'

Another thing clicked in my mind.

'If it can't move by itself, then what would be able to move it instead?'

The most obvious answer to me was my own will.

'It somewhat makes sense, I mean the atlas system references many faucets of ones own being. From what I saw on the research tab on my phone these faucets are comprised of the body, the mind, the spirit, and the soul however not much is said apart from their names. It has been deduced that found that roh is something created inherently from ones soul. The atlas system also mentions the will in a similar light to roh but describes it as something different then what roh is. Actually the atlas system doesn't mention roh at all. Only unique things the system mentions is will and something called mana which I couldn't find any information about.'

'I'm getting side tracked, if will is what animates the roh then how do I get that to happen?'

looking over at 3 again to see if any inspiration came but after trying to observe every detail, I was still left with no real progress other then a plausible theory.

The entire room was in silent meditation, some people had one of these suits in front of their feet which I assumed Axmon's assistant put there when someone made enough progress.

I stood up quietly and started walking to my room, no one paid any attention to me leaving so after one final glance at 7, 9, 13, and 49 I left, all while laughing inside at their faces strewn in immense concentration.

'I need to find some knowledge to help me manipulate my roh.'

I was happy with my increase in how well I could sense my roh being as much as it was but failing to complete that final step into using roh was annoying me greatly.

'The others will definitely be able to use roh by the end of the day, after all they took a little more then an hour to do what I could do in triple that. To them this was the easy beginning stage, where it all comes natural as long as they spend the time but for me I need to spend more time and take short cuts to just keep up.'

What really disappointed me was not even the large amount of other people far more talented then me at roh. It was witnessing 3 and her absolutely horrific pace of progress.

'She seems to already be able to use body enhancement, considering what I saw her do to that punching bag. She is already leagues ahead of me, everyone really unless we have someone who I didn't notice was also a monster.'

After arriving at my room I immediately changed out of the uncomfortable suit I was in and considered what to do from here.

'How do I get past this hurdle? There is no one to really help me, I'm already on the tight rope when it comes to Axmon keeping me here. If I show I cannot keep up with something easy then I would probably be sent back to the outer rings again.'

I shivered at the thought. After a few moments I just decided to sleep a little bit.

'We probably won't have that meeting in 7's room today so sleeping for an hour or two should be fine.'

Looking through my phone to see if there was some kind of alarm I eventually found one in the clock app and set the alarm for two hours.

'Why does this thing have to be so annoying when trying to find what you want.'

Despite my anger I very quickly went to sleep.

--

Waking up to the loud sound of my alarm I quickly turned to switch it off.

I felt even more tired after I slept then before, the one comfort was the fact my sense for roh was always active now so I felt its slight flow within my body. I wouldn't say my sense for roh was sharper but it definitely was improved in some way.

'It could be because my mind is in a better state, or even because sleeping makes me more used to it somehow.'

No answers appeared in my mind so I just stood up and went to training room A to work out a little bit.

On the way I noticed something on the door to the cafeteria.

I looked at my clock to see lunch time had passed.

'You have to be fucking joking me.'

Well it didn't matter, I was going to go to training hall A anyways.

Walking in I found a dozen or so people in here, unlike before where it had no one. This time it definitely felt alive but there weren't so many people that I couldn't use the equipment with the sole exception of the punching bags.

Almost everyone here were in obvious friend groups, however I didn't find anyone in my friend group here.

'Bit of a shame, but then again I'm a lot more comfortable doing things on my own. Not that I don't enjoy the company though.'

I walked past the fighting ring with two people sparing inside and sat down at a rowing machine, which just consisted of using the handles to pull a string while having certain resistance settings.

'How long do I have to work out for?'

Any amount regular and hard exercise will improve your strength according to... Well who knows but I trust the information given here about training at the very least.

I only took around half an hour but I was satisfied. I repeatedly increased the weight on the rowing machine and eventually my back started to hurt.

Before walking into my room, an idea stuck me. I knew if it worked it was an amazing idea however...

'This is going to be really embarrassing'

Walking up to a certain room I knocked on the door and a few seconds later the door opened.

Who I saw was a slightly annoyed looking 3 staring back at me. She just stood there for a moment not saying anything.

I decided to take initiative then. "I need help utilising my roh, do you have any tips?"

Her expression didn't change, she just stood there looking at me for a few seconds.

'that's her considering it right?'

"Come inside." She said with a voice showing exactly how little she seemed to care.

after walking in she sat on her bed and I took a seat on her desk chair.

"I'm surprised you are having issues with manifesting roh, you seem like the type to be quite good at learning." She asked in what seemed like mild curiosity.

'Should I just be honest with her?'

This option was the clearest but deep inside I hated revealing any weakness I had but I decided to steel my heart.

speaking just as the silence was becoming awkward "I don't have a blessing."

"What?" She said in genuine surprise, the first real emotion I had seen from her. "How are you still here?"

"I can only assume its because my natural roh capacity is as high as someone with a blessing." As I was saying this I realised how cocky that sounded.

"Thats... Interesting to say the least. Alright I think I can understand you now." She took a moment to consider her next words. "Alright, I will see what I can do to help."
