My eyes scanned the villa surroundings, casual but calculated. Empty. Still. Too still. But my mind was anything but.
I glanced sideways—Jack's gaze was already locked on Danielle and Nelly.
Danielle came barreling toward us like a human firework. Before I could blink, she leaped into Jack's arms. I didn't bother looking back at their reunion. I kept my focus forward, where Nelly was slowly walking closer.
"Hey," I said, my voice lower than I expected. Controlled.
She raised an eyebrow, expression unreadable. "Hello?"
"I heard… you had company."
"Company? Like boys?" Her tone dipped into disbelief, edged with challenge.
"I don't know. You tell me."
She scoffed, stepping in closer, her eyes sharp as glass. "You think I'd sneak random guys into your private island? Like I even have the fucking power to do that?"
Her voice had heat, but not for long. I caught the twitch in her brow, the frustration waning slightly—and I knew.
There were no guys.
