After finishing his discussion with Caleb's mother, Catte was shocked to learn that the manager he thought he had killed was still alive, even though he had used a knife.
"You only stabbed him in a place where he could still be saved," Caleb's mother explained.
Without saying a word, Catte left the room and quickly walked toward the car.
Ding!
Colin's phone received a message. He checked it and was stunned—Ruby had been caught in a microwave explosion. Though she wasn't seriously injured, the situation was still alarming.
Colin immediately ran toward Catte, his face filled with worry.
"Damn it! Catte, let's go now! Ruby is in danger!" Colin shouted while sprinting.
Catte was shocked upon hearing those words. Without responding, he remained silent but rushed toward the car.
As soon as they arrived at the apartment, Catte ran straight into the building. He saw the smoke, the aftermath of the fire.
"Ruby! Ruby!" he shouted as he dashed up the stairs.
Colin, unsure of what to do after witnessing the smoke, simply followed Catte while calling Caleb's friend to bring a fire extinguisher.
Cough "Catte! Your little sister… she's safe," the neighbor assured him.
Ruby climbed down from the neighbor's arms and immediately ran to hug Catte tightly.
"Catte! Uwaaaah! Why didn't you come home? Uwah…" Ruby cried.
Catte couldn't find the words to answer. Instead, he simply held her close and tried to comfort her.
After calming Ruby down, Catte immediately thanked his neighbor. But as he looked at the man's face, he was stunned.
"Frost?!" Catte exclaimed.
"Catte?!" the neighbor responded, equally shocked.
Catte realized that his neighbor had been his old friend all along—the one he had lost contact with. Overwhelmed with emotion, he released Ruby and rushed to embrace Frost.
"Finally, we meet again, Frost!" Catte cried.
Frost was confused by the sudden hug, but from a distance, he noticed something—Colin was glaring at them with jealousy. Without wasting a second, Colin marched toward them and spoke with an annoyed tone.
"Hey, Catte! There's no time for this lovey-dovey reunion! We need to take Ruby to the hospital now!" Colin said, his jealousy evident.
Catte quickly excused himself and left with Colin to bring Ruby to the hospital. Meanwhile, Frost stood still, lost in thought. It was only now that he realized something—Catte was actually an Omega, while he was an Alpha.
Back then, he had protected Catte from getting bullied by Alpha gangs. He had even taken care of Catte for a while when he was younger. But now, all he could do was watch as Catte struggled to survive in a harsh world.
(At hospital)
Ruby was taken into the treatment room while Colin and Catte waited outside, praying for her safety. Catte took this opportunity to visit his father's room, where his father was battling Stage 1 heart cancer. Meanwhile, Colin remained outside Ruby's treatment room, keeping watch.
"…Dad?" Catte called out softly as he stepped inside.
