The next morning, everyone woke up to the smell of a delicious breakfast filling the headquarters. This was not a usual occurrence. Breakfast was typically either Beast Boy trying to convince them to eat his weird vegan food or Starfire serving some alien dish that no one could even pronounce.

The Titans rushed toward the kitchen, curious to see who had the audacity to cook this morning. When they walked in, they found Blade standing there, busy plating the food, wearing a sleeveless black shirt and sweatpants.

But the shocking part wasn't just the fact that he was cooking…

It was that he wasn't wearing his mask.

His scarred face was fully visible—the blind eye, the long scar stretching from his mouth to his neck, and his other sharp blue eye, full of life and mischief. He wasn't trying to hide anything.

Blade was just… himself.

Beast Boy, still half-asleep, blinked at him before lazily asking,

"Wait… who are you? And where did you hide Blade?"

Without looking up, Blade placed a plate full of eggs and bacon on the table and replied,

"I am Blade. The most charming, most handsome, and undeniably funniest person in this room. Now sit down and eat before I change my mind and make you eat Starfire's alien food instead."

Starfire, who was floating happily in the air, gasped.

"Oh! Would you like to try 'Zorklon boiled in Ghragal sauce'? It is a festive dish on my planet!"

Beast Boy immediately took a seat, grabbing a fork and knife.

"Nope, nope, Earth breakfast is perfect! Thank you, Blade!"

Robin sat down as well, staring at Blade for a moment before asking calmly,

"Why cook? And why no mask?"

Blade turned to him, raised his one good eyebrow, and casually placed a cup of coffee in front of Raven.

"Oh, do I need a reason to be awesome now? Honestly, I figured you guys deserved a reward after witnessing that spectacular fight last night. Plus, I wanted to prove that I'm not just great at kicking ass—I also make the perfect breakfast."

Raven, sipping her coffee quietly, glanced at him and said flatly,

"So… this is your weird way of saying 'thank you'?"

Blade smirked, shot her a sideways look, and lowered his voice as he sat beside her.

"Oh, Raven… if you want me to say 'thank you,' I can say it… in many ways."

Raven didn't respond—she just turned away, subtly hiding a small smile.

Cyborg, chewing on a piece of bacon, looked at Blade and gave him an approving nod.

"Alright… I'll admit it. I did not see this coming. You're a lot more complicated than you let on."

Blade raised his coffee cup with a sly smile and said,

"I'm like the mask of hell, Cyborg… behind every layer, there's another one… and somehow, I get even more handsome underneath."

The group chuckled lightly before settling into their breakfast, enjoying a rare moment of peace. But even in this quiet moment, they all had the same thought lingering in their minds:

What is Blade planning next?

The morning atmosphere was unusually calm. But, as always, Blade wasn't about to let a moment pass without leaving his signature mark.

He sat beside Raven, sipping his coffee slowly before glancing at her, his blue eye glowing with mischief. In a deep, quiet voice, he murmured,

"You know, Raven… something strange is happening here."

Raven, calmly eating her breakfast, didn't even look at him. She just sighed lightly and replied in an uninterested tone,

"And what would that be?"

Blade smirked, lowering his voice as if whispering a secret,

"I made this amazing breakfast, woke up early for it… and yet, I haven't heard a single 'thank you' from you. Truly, it breaks my pure heart."

Finally, Raven lifted her gaze, one eyebrow slightly raised, her violet eyes staring at him with an empty expression.

"Really? Your heart, which can regenerate, is broken over that?"

Blade placed a hand over his chest as if he had just been emotionally wounded. With dramatic flair, he sighed,

"Ah, Raven… you don't understand. Physical wounds heal, but emotional wounds? They last forever."

Beast Boy nearly choked on his toast from laughing, while Cyborg just shook his head, already expecting something like this. Robin? He ignored it entirely, as if he had long accepted these types of conversations as part of his life.

But Raven? Raven simply sipped her coffee calmly, then finally looked at him and, in a cool yet slightly amused tone, said,

"So… you want a 'thank you'?"

Blade tilted his head, his smirk widening.

"If it comes from your lovely lips, I'd consider it a priceless morning gift."

Raven paused for a moment, as if carefully considering her response. Then, she leaned in slightly, locked eyes with his piercing blue one, and, in a soft yet subtly challenging voice, said,

"Thank you… Blade."

It was the first time she had said his name like that. No sarcasm. No evasion. Just… direct.

For one fleeting second, Blade felt like he was the one caught off guard, thrown into unfamiliar territory of mixed emotions.

But, being who he was, he quickly regained control, flashed her a teasing smile, and replied casually…

"Oh… now my day just got ten times better."

Blade sipped his coffee calmly, while Raven hid a small smile as she continued eating.

As everyone enjoyed their breakfast, Robin set his cup down and looked at the team with a serious expression.

"Alright, now that we're done, we have work to do today. We need to patrol the city and make sure everything is under control."

Before anyone could respond, Blade raised his hand like a student in class and said in a voice dripping with sarcasm,

"Oh, oh, I have a suggestion! How about… instead… we spend the day like normal people, relax, take a break, and maybe—stay with me here—not go looking for trouble ourselves? I know, I know, a revolutionary idea, right?"

Robin sighed, Beast Boy chuckled, and Cyborg just shook his head.

"Blade, we're heroes. It's our responsibility to protect the city," Robin said patiently.

Blade turned to him, placing a hand on his shoulder with exaggerated seriousness.

"Robin, Robin… my little spiky-haired kung fu friend, do you know what happens when heroes take a day off? Nothing! Because villains need breaks too! Can you imagine Joker going, 'Ah, I won't carry out my evil plan today, my back hurts'? No? Exactly! That's why we need rest too!"

Raven took a sip of her coffee and said flatly,

"That makes no sense at all."

Blade smirked at her.

"No… but it's fun, isn't it?"

Robin crossed his arms, standing firm.

"We're not just some random people hanging out together. We're a team, and it's our responsibility to protect the innocent."

Starfire nodded enthusiastically.

"It is an honor to protect the dear citizens of this city!"

Blade let out a dramatic sigh, waving his hand dismissively.

"Alright, alright, I get it. You guys love playing 'Hometown Heroes.' Just don't come crying to me when one day, during yet another pointless patrol, you finally realize that even villains need a goddamn vacation!"

Cyborg placed a hand on Blade's shoulder with a smirk.

"If you hate it so much, you can always stay here."

Blade narrowed his eyes at him and said slowly,

"Oh, no no no, I'm not letting you guys go without me. What if you need someone to dramatically lose a limb or almost get decapitated while delivering a sarcastic one-liner? That's my job, my friend."

Robin sighed again and said,

"Alright, everyone get ready. We're heading out in ten minutes."

Blade stood up slowly, stretching his arms and yawning.

"Yeah, yeah, let's go save the world… again. But just so you all know, I'm only doing this because I love you guys—especially my dear husband, Cyborg. Don't tell anyone, though. I'll deny it later."

Cyborg nearly choked on his coffee, coughing as he said,

"Blade, are you seriously still pulling out the 'wedding card' whenever it suits you?"

Beast Boy burst out laughing.

"Oh, I have to tell everyone about this!"

Blade pointed at him with mock seriousness.

"And I'll make Starfire cook you a special meal from her planet every single day. You want that?"

Starfire beamed happily.

"Would you truly like to taste it, Beast Boy?"

Beast Boy's mouth went dry, and he quickly said,

"I didn't say anything! I didn't hear anything! Let's go!"

And with that, the team set off on their daily patrol… and despite all his sarcasm, Blade wasn't about to let them go without him.

But what Blade didn't expect… was that what they were about to find next would be amazing.
