Chapter 28 - Chapter Twenty Eight - The Hunters

A deafening crack split the air as the ruins behind Elias collapsed in on themselves, a tidal wave of stone and dust swallowing the entrance whole.

Sienna staggered back, coughing as thick debris filled the valley. Darius's arm shot around her waist, yanking her away from the crumbling wreckage just as a jagged slab of stone slammed into the ground where she had stood.

Her ears rang. Her lungs burned.

But none of it compared to the ice in her veins.

Because Elias wasn't moving.

He stood there, utterly unbothered, the flickering moonlight catching the sharp angles of his face. His dark coat billowed in the wind, and his silver eyes, so much like her own watched her with a patience that sent a shiver down her spine.

"Looks like the past doesn't want to be disturbed," he murmured, his voice cutting through the settling dust like a blade.

Sienna's pulse pounded.

This wasn't possible.
