The world outside faded into nothing.
It was just them now, Kael and Sienna, tangled together, breathless, consumed by the fire that had been smoldering between them for far too long.
Kael's hands moved instinctively, possessively, as if he was trying to memorize every inch of her. His lips trailed along her jaw, down her throat, and Sienna shuddered, her fingers gripping his shoulders like he was the only thing keeping her grounded.
Her scent was everywhere. Warm, intoxicating, uniquely hers. It wrapped around him, seeped into his skin, and drove him to the brink of madness.
His wolf rumbled in approval.
His mate.
The thought hit him like a bolt of lightning, sharp and undeniable.
She was his.
Always had been.
Always would be.
Kael pressed his forehead against hers, his breath ragged. His grip on her tightened, as if letting go wasn't an option anymore.
And maybe it wasn't.
