Cherreads

Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

I rummaged through my closet, looking for an outfit to wear at the concert. I couldn't find anything casual at all!

I picked up a pair of shiny red heels, I don't have a dress to pair with it though. I put it aside, but a white dress caught my attention, so I picked it up.

It was a short white piece, with a heart-shaped neckline which showed off a bit of the shoulders and collarbone.the sleeves were long and sheer, adding a delicate touch. It was fitted at the waist and flowed out into a short skirt that hit just above the knees.

My eyes sparkled as I admired the beautiful piece. It was perfect! I quickly grabbed the new pair of white flats I had ordered online and changed into the outfit.

Now, should I try wearing some makeup? my hand trembles whenever I pick up a makeup brush, I'm not sure about this..

I sighed,"What should I do..?" I mutter to myself as I sit on the edge of the bed, I do remember he said to dress up casually, but still..

I didn't wanna look like I was heading to a drag queen competition…maybe I should just stick with some lip balm and be myself. I could try learning how to apply makeup by watching a few videos, but I don't think I have enough time for that now..

I finish up my outfit with a few accessories, tying my hair up in a high ponytail and adding a ribbon at the center.

Finally, I picked up my favorite cherry lip balm, the scent was always so comforting.

I glanced over at myself in the mirror, unsure whether I looked good or not. I got more and more anxious as time ticked by. "Will Vlad like it..? I wondered.

Just then, I heared a knock on my door.

"Coming!" I say, rushing towards the door. I opened it, and in front of me, stood Vlad.

Vlad wore a sleek black jacket with some fitted trousers, both looking expensive and refined. A luxury silver watch gleamed on his wrist.

"Vlad..?" I say in a nervous tone.

A faint blush crept up his cheeks as he eyed me up and down before he gazed away from me, clearing his throat.

"You look..beautiful.." a soft smile formed on his lips as he spoke, looking back at me.

I found myself also blushing at his words, I couldn't help but giggle at his words, "Thank you. You look nice too!" I responded.

Vlad offered me his arm, glancing at his watch, "C'mon, we only have a few minutes left, let's go."

It's been around 15 minutes, we've arrived at the concert venue..but..there's only a few people in the area. I turn to Vlad with a questioning look.

"Where is everyone, Vlad? I thought you said it'd be crowded."

Vlad bit his tongue, a sheepish look on his face,"Uh..well I actually lied about that, the concert starts at 8pm actually. I'm just here to check out the food stalls."

I facepalmed myself at his words. I can't believe this man! I swear if he pulls another stunt like this again…

I sighed, I don't have a choice anyway, not like I can control time. "Fine, let's..check out that stall over there." I said as we went out of the venue.

I pointed at a stall selling cream buns, Vlad looked at the direction where I was pointing, before slowly nodding.

We walked over to the stall, Vlad stood in front speaking to the Seller.

"We'll have one, please."

"One…why just one, Vlad..?" I asked, I thought he was hungry, why would he order one then?

Vlad turned to me with a playful glint in his eyes, his lips curling into a smirk. "It'd be more romantic that way. We're on a date after all." He finished his sentence, winking at me.

A blush spread across my face, I felt my ears were turning red at his words.."a date.."? This..does count as a date..

I turned my gaze away, not wanting him to notice the flush on my cheeks. I clenched my fist, the audacity of this man to tease me like this!

The seller handed the cream bun to Vlad. Vlad removed the parchment paper and took a step closer to me, holding the cream bun to my mouth.

"Ladies first. C'mon have a bite."

I hesitated at first…but slowly took a small bite out of the bun. To my surprise, it was really good! It was soft and sweet, with the right amount of cream.

Vlad noticed the expression on my face as I took a bite of the food. He chuckled, "After the concert ends, we might as well take a few home." He muttered before taking a bite out of the bun as well. "Mm, not bad."

I took the last bite, some of the cream got on the corner of my lips.

Vlad reached up to wipe it off. "You got something there, Missy."

"Oh..t-thank you.." I stammered.

He gently wiped the cream off my lips using his finger. But instead of just wiping it off, he brought the finger to his mouth, before licking it clean.

I cringed at the sight, facepalming myself. "If you wanted some of the cream, you could've just asked earlier."

"No need, it tasted way better since they were on your lips." He winked, his eyes filled with amusement.

I let out a sigh, why did I choose this man as my husband in the past again...?

Suddenly, a few men showed up in the area, with a mic in their hands, it seemed like an announcement.

"Sorry everybody, but tonight's concert is cancelled for some personal reasons. Again, we apologize for wasting your time."

Some of the people around us seem pretty frustrated at the men's speech. I tug at Vlad's jacket, looking up at him.

"The concert is canceled.."

Vlad nodded at my words, sighing in disappointment. "Yea, that's the only reason we came here."

I scoffed at his words, "only reason? You only came here for the food!" I said, crossing my arms.

Vlad chuckled, putting his hands in his pockets. "You ate too, so don't scold me."

I rolled my eyes, "Okay, whatever. But what do we do now?" I asked him. I didn't wanna go back home again after coming all this way.

Vlad looked up, as if deep in thought.

"Hm…let me think…"

He stayed silent for a while, his eyes scanning the area. I glanced at his watch, 3 minutes had already passed, and he was still…just thinking.

"Hmm….." Vlad hummed, as if he was solving some big mystery.

"Just say it already!" I yelled out, snapping Vlad out of his thoughts.

"Ah, you startled me." Vlad chuckled.

Hm, I think we could check out the other stalls here. Not all of them are food-related." Vlad finally responded.

If I hadn't snapped him out of his thoughts, I would've turned into a granny already from the wait!

I turned around, noticing a group of people afar gathering. Curiosity got the best of me so I had to check it out.

"What's over there? Let's check it out!" I grabbed Vlad's hand and ran over to the spot.

"Woah, woah, slow down!" Vlad tightened his grip on my hand as I pulled him over.
