For a moment, I stared at him, unsure of how to respond, unsure of what this strange connection between us even was. And as much as I tried to ignore it, his touch on my skin—so tender, so genuine—left an imprint on me, one that made my heart beat faster and my breath shallow.
"It was terrible. I don't wish for anyone to go through that." I sighed and shut my eyes for a moment as a few terrible memories replayed in my head. Was it when I went for days without eating any meals because I lacked appetite, or was it the countless nightmares? how I would keep seeing the memories of that day in my head? I shook my head slightly, pushing the painful memories aside.
"It was a painful experience, I thought I wouldn't make it," I explained, my voice heavy with the weight of those painful years.
