Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 : Master

At the same time, Qiling led a group of freed slaves, determined to break away from the rule of the Celestial Dragons and escape.

"This is our chance—we fight for our freedom!"

Qiling marched at the front, exuding unwavering resolve. Behind him, a force of former slaves and pirate crews followed, their spirits ignited by fury and desperation. The navy's defenses crumbled beneath their relentless assault.

"We can't hold them back!" "Damn pirates, they're tearing through our lines!"

Mariejoia, once an untouchable fortress, now lay in shambles, a battleground of fallen navy soldiers and humiliated Celestial Dragons. The chaos was overwhelming.

The Celestial Dragon King, still held firmly in Bell's grasp, groggily regained consciousness. Realizing the state of his once-pristine domain, his face contorted in rage—but there was nothing he could do.

"Old man, take a good look! These are your so-called 'divine rulers'—reduced to nothing! Without the government propping you up, what right do you have to act like gods?"

Bell's voice thundered with contempt. His fury boiled over as he clenched his fist and delivered another crushing blow to the king, knocking him down once more. The crowd of former slaves erupted in cheers. Years of pent-up resentment fueled their exhilaration.

The Celestial Dragon King, battered and humiliated, glared at Bell with venomous hatred. "You will pay for this... all of you will suffer!"

Bell had heard enough. Without hesitation, he lifted the broken king, intent on ending him once and for all.

Then—a whistle through the air. An arrow struck Bell clean through the chest.

His body seized, convulsed, and fell heavily to the ground.

A stunned silence gripped the crowd. Then, panic erupted.

The World Government had finally made its move.

Qiling's sharp gaze snapped to the source of the attack. A lone figure emerged, exuding an aura of absolute dominance.

"Fools," the man sneered. "Leave now, or share his fate."

Rocky, a high-ranking agent of CP0, the Navy's elite enforcers, had arrived.

Qiling's expression darkened. She had underestimated how quickly the government would respond. Rocky walked forward with calculated ease, prying the king from Bell's limp hands before turning his cold eyes on Qiling.

"You're the leader of this uprising, aren't you?"

Qiling met his gaze without flinching. "And if I am? The Celestial Dragons are nothing but parasites. Why should pirates and slaves bow to them?"

Rocky smirked. "It doesn't matter. My orders are clear—you either surrender, or you die. The exits are sealed. You have nowhere to run."

Fear began to spread among the pirates.

"We can't win against CP0…" "If we surrender, at least we'll live…" "They'll slaughter us if we resist!"

The murmurs of doubt infuriated Qiling. With a sharp glare, she silenced them. Her mere presence carried a force that demanded respect. The hesitation in their eyes turned to awe.

Rocky remained unfazed. "This is your final warning. Surrender, or be executed."

Qiling chuckled softly, shaking her head. "You act like I ever considered surrendering. Let's get this over with."

Rocky wasted no time. In a blur, he lunged, his four blades gleaming, each stroke precise and deadly. Against an ordinary fighter, this technique was overwhelming.

But Qiling was far from ordinary.

She barely moved as he closed in—until the moment was right.

"Heavenly Pull."

A powerful force yanked Rocky mid-air, disrupting his flawless technique. Before he could react, Qiling struck, sending him crashing into the ground with a devastating impact.

A metallic chime echoed.

[Ding! Fear Points +200]

It had to be said that while this guy had no real strength, he had accumulated a surprising amount of experience. The previous battle with little Luo Luo had even granted him the ability to level up.

"Tsk, tsk, not bad at all," Qi Ling smirked as he strode toward Luo Qi with an air of superiority. "You might not have much fighting ability, but you've still managed to benefit me quite a bit. In light of that, I'll be merciful and let you go."

Luo Qi struggled, but no matter how hard he tried, his body refused to move. He was completely immobilized.

Meanwhile, the watching pirates, who had been eagerly anticipating the outcome of the fight, were left in stunned silence.

"I thought this would be a hard-fought battle... but Qi Ling won without breaking a sweat!"

"What kind of Devil Fruit ability is this? It's terrifying!"

Their fear quickly turned into excitement. If Qi Ling was this strong, then maybe—just maybe—they had a real chance.

"With him on our side, we can definitely break through!" one pirate shouted, raising his machete high.

The others followed suit, their morale reignited as they roared in unison. But before their hope could fully take root—

Boom!

A deafening explosion erupted nearby, sending shockwaves through the battlefield.

The pirates' dreams of victory shattered instantly as most of them collapsed, writhing in pain from the impact.

Qiling hadn't expected things to escalate so quickly. Turning toward the source of the blast, his expression darkened. The coastline ahead was no longer empty—forts lined the shore, their cannons primed and ready.
