Another vacation has been set and the day of the awaited trip has come, it was an out of town trip to a hot spring resort. Through Samuel's recommendation, they were able to book a small villa for free since it was a relative who endorsed them for the accommodation and the stay. Thus, the four of them traveled, the three teenagers who had been exhausted due to the sleepless nights of reviewing for the exams are now full of energy anticipating their arrival at the spring resort.
"Cana look at this, they also have a canopy in this room!" Mia excitedly called as they explored the rooms upstairs. They have less expectations because of the free accommodation, but the villa seems to be bigger and even looks more modern with the bright interiors and fancy looking fixtures and furniture.
"I have researched what young girls like so I chose this villa among the others that has been recommended by the manager." Samuel proudly whispered to his cousin as they watched both girls enjoy and explore the villa.
"Ah, that's quite helpful brother!" Simone happily salutes his brother's intuition and skills.
"Let's have a break first, you can rest up and later tonight we can go to the night market and see the hot springs." Samuel explained as he led Cana and Mia to the room on the second floor. "Simone and I will be taking the room downstairs, if you need help with anything you can just knock over there."
"Okay!" The two girls excitedly agreed, the trip was long and they ended up really taking a nap in their own rooms. Samuel on the other hand spent his time resting while reading a book in the sun room. When it's time for the appointment at noon, he decided to wake Simone first, then he went upstairs to inform the girls. Samuel saw Mia who was already warmly dressed and ready to go, then he asked for Cana.
"I think Cana went to the balcony, there's a rattan swing over there and she might have fallen asleep as she didn't return to the room." Pointing at the west side of the second floor.
"Then I'll look up for her there, Simone is downstairs and already waiting." Before turning to the balcony Mia called out again. " Brother Samuel, Cana is a bit sleepy head so it may take a while before she wakes up, we'll just go first and let's meet up later? Would that be fine?" Mia smiles nervously at Samuel, they already have a plan to let the two make time together, it was actually Mia and Simone who urges him to confess at the trip, however he refuses as he didn't want to pressure Cana.
"It's fine, we'll follow later, there's a night market nearby, go sightseeing with Simone, just be careful not to get separated or lost, stay within the street and don't stray far." He said promptly. He knew that the two also wanted to spend time together.
" Okay! Thanks brother Samuel!" Mia gladly went downstairs, at each step she repeated in her mind, on how she sees Samuel caring for Cana, he is quick to observe her needs and always has his eyes on her.
"Ah brother can't take his eyes off of Cana, he seems non-existent at all. It was the very first time that I saw him like that." Simone told Mia as they walked on their way to the night market.
Samuel opened the balcony door and saw Cana sleeping with her blanket barely covering her so that she is all curled up. The book she's reading is already dropped on the ground and any further move and she'll fall as well on her current position. He walked fast to her and as soon as he picked up the book it was just the same time that Cana suddenly turned from her sleep, causing the swing to move. Thanks to his fast reflexes he was able to catch her.
" Such a silly girl, you made me worry about you."
Still asleep, Cana has no idea that she is snuggling at Samuel tightly, due to the fall, he was sitting on the floor straddling while her small frame fitted perfectly and resting. "This girl, she almost hit the ground and is still sleeping." he mumbled as he watched her not waking up after her fall from the swing and remembered how Mia told that her friend is a heavy sleeper.
His phone vibrated and checked out the messages.
[Brother Samuel, Cana is a heavy sleeper and often rolls on her sleep, so Mia said to check her before she falls on the floor. Also it'll be around half an hour or so until she fully wakes up. Have a fun time with her!] - Simone
"Simone, you just want to spend time alone with your girlfriend. This must be your idea leaving us behind.`` As expected, he knows his cousin well. He suddenly stiffened when he felt Cana snuggling at his chest as she slept.
"Ah, this girl... How can you hug a man while sleeping... You're really naughty. " The warmth of their bodies in a closed distance, he doesn't hate it. A softer gaze on his face, he wanted to spoil her even more as he brushed her hair away from her face.
"Ah, you're so defenseless... You wouldn't be mad if I did something naughty back at you right?" Then he slowly closes his face to her.
"All passengers please check your baggage and watch for the door as it'll be closing anytime soon."
The young man was looking around upon the arrival, he walked toward the waiting area and saw a familiar person that he hadn't met for a long time.
"Brother Ran! Here!" It was Romeo who came to pick up his eldest brother.
"Rom! You've grown a lot, you're just as manly as I am now!" He patted the younger man's head as if trying to ruin his hair.
"Ah brother! Don't! You never changed!" he laughingly pushes his brother's hand.
"Where are the others?" he asked.
"Our parents are busy at the store, brother Ruel will bring his girlfriend to tonight's dinner as well."
"And I am here expecting kiddo to greet me here, am I not her favorite brother anymore? Is it puberty? I actually prepared myself once she jumped to me. Where is she?" He said excitedly and even acted to be pouting as he was disappointed not seeing the youngest one, Cana.
"Ah that..." He pauses for a moment thinking of how he's gonna tell his brother that Cana went out on a trip. Of all three of brothers, Ran is the most protective of Cana since she came to the family.
"What? Cat got your tongue?" He's now serious and knows that his brother is hiding something from him. "Where did Cana go?``It was a firm question demanding for an answer.
Sweat starts to drop from Romeo's forehead.
After a while.
"What!" he exclaims loudly in the living room as the family gathers.
"Son, why are you so upset? Let the child have fun with her friends, that little girl has always cooped up in her room." his mother tries to calm him.
"Yes, I am quite surprised that kiddo actually has other friends than that girl she sticks with, Mia was her name right? She's with her as well." It was now Ruel who just came back home after sending his girlfriend to the station. He is actually apologetic with his girlfriend as she saw how her brother is so furious upon knowing that Cana went on an out of town trip.
"You've let two sixteen year old girls on an out of town trip with no guardian? How can I be calm?" Ran still cannot believe what has happened, they have been letting Cana have freedom as she has never caused a problem, but a two days and one night trip is still not acceptable for him.
"No, the kids have a guardian together with them, he also picked her up in a car earlier and even spoke out with your father and me." His mother detailed however, it made Ran more shocked upon hearing the guardian.
"What? Pick her up? Car? And...."
A bit of silence until it sinks into him.
" A Man!?"
The clueless mother continues, "Yes, he was quite a good looking young man, aside from the looks he has manners as well. I hope I have a son just like him, rather than having a playboy, a lazy and a cheeky one" their mother starts complaining. Raising three sons is a bit dull, she can never rely on the house work or anything, she was so happy when Cana started living with them. Being such an obedient and sweet little girl it added colors to her dull life taking care of four boys, the fourth was her husband.
"Mother, you let Cana go on a trip with a man... She's still too young." Romeo, who didn't know and only thought it was Mia, spoke up. If he knew, he would never have agreed to let the girls go on a trip, but their mother is still their mother. She has taken a liking to the man she met earlier.
"Why are you being so paranoid over kiddo going on a trip. She's already graduating high school. I heard that young girls like mature men as their partner nowadays. So it's not like it's a bad thing. '' Ruel being so chill about it added fuel to a fire.
"What? How can you let Cana deal with mature men than her? Our kiddo is such a naïve and frail young lady! What if something happens to her!?" Ran still can't stop worrying about his youngest sibling.
"Stop worrying over, are you his father? Even Dad has no complaints about it." Ruel once again argued with his brother.
"But, she'll be my future sister-in-law. I have to protect her and ensure that it'll happen! Didn't Romeo keep telling that she'll be his bride when they grow up!?"
Ran brought up unexpected memories in the past, that splashed water among them.
