the most-wanted thief, was locked inside a jail cell. Ino stood in front of him, arms crossed, his patience already wearing thin.
"Who are you, and why are you here?" Ino demanded.
The man smirked. "I am Munfa."
"Why are you here? Answer me!" Ino's voice grew sharper, his hand tightening into a fist.
Munfa simply chuckled.
Ino was ready to strike, but before he could, Luz stepped forward. "Ino, don't. We're not the dark side."
Luz turned to Munfa. "What's your purpose here?" he asked calmly.
Munfa leaned against the cold wall and sighed. "I came to steal weapons from you and sell them to the dark side."
At those words, Ino lunged forward in rage, but Luz was faster, catching his fist before it could connect.
"Let him finish," Luz said firmly.
Munfa continued, his tone indifferent. "I don't sell weapons to the dark side because I support them. I do it because my village is starving. Ever since this war started, people in my home have been dying. The balance of light and darkness is gone, and we're the ones suffering for it. Some of us became thieves just to survive."
Luz's expression softened. "Then join us. Fight for the light."
Munfa scoffed. "Join the light?" He shook his head. "Like Den, I lost my faith in your god and its descendants. But unlike him, I have no intention of siding with the dark. I stand alone."
There was a brief silence. Then, Munfa narrowed his eyes at Luz. "Who even are you?"
Luz met his gaze. "I am a light descendant."
Munfa laughed. "Yeah, right."
Without another word, Luz unlocked the cell door.
Munfa blinked. "You're letting me go?"
Luz nodded.
Munfa didn't hesitate. The moment he stepped outside, he dashed away at an incredible speed—his movements like a flash of lightning.
Ino clenched his fists. "Why did you let him go?! He's selling our weapons to our enemy!"
Luz stayed silent for a moment before answering, his voice firm.
"We're not the dark side, Ino." His eyes burned with conviction. "Even the worst criminals are still part of Aetheris. As a light descendant, my mission is to protect everyone.
Ino said nothing, but his frustration was clear.
Later that night, Luz and Elena set out to patrol the nearby cities, ensuring their safety from the dark forces.
But as they moved through the forest, they were being watched.
Someone was following them.
