I sat vigil.
I loved the vigil. Even in the rain.
I could have summoned a shield to escape the heavy downfall. Hell I could probably even stop the storm if I wanted to.
I didn't.
There was something purifying about the warm desert rain.
It was unusual. It didn't rain much here, but now water flooded down the streets, gathering in pools knee-deep in some places.
The desert is buying us time.
Trudging through the mud in such a torrential downpour would be difficult.
Very difficult.
The Tumen saw me sitting vigil.
"What are you doing out here?!" He asked.
"Holding vigil, sir." I told him. "Would you like to join me?"
He looked at me like I was crazy. Then shrugged and sat down.
I summoned a shield to cover him.
"Thanks." He said.
"How are the preparations?" I asked.
