Chapter 112 - A Snag in the Tapestry

The princess and I sat on a bench in a garden behind the Shoeless Stallion. The sky was grey, but I didn't think it was going to rain. 

"Sorry, master, I didn't bring the box with me." Anna was saying. 

"Honestly, Anna, I'm surprised you want a lesson right now, how much sleep did you get on your trip?"

"Enough. The skies were clear the whole time."

"Lucky. Rowan and I were caught in a sandstorm that grounded us."

- I hate sand, highness. Ilargia said. 

"And when did you last eat?"

The rumble that came from her stomach answered that one for me.

"You didn't bring anything with you to eat, did you?" 

She shook her head. "I was in a rush."

I sighed. "Okay, come with me."

I led her inside. "Hail, mistress Meri." I said, greeting the innkeeper. 

"Favoured. Who's this?" The woman studied Anna critically. "She's very thin."

"My daughter, Jaina, and it's been a few days since she's eaten."
