"No." The queen said.
"I haven't even said anything yet!"
I was standing in the queen's study, the early morning light streaming through the large windows, onto her desk.
"We can't spare you, Lukas. I can't let you go to the Kingdoms."
"Ma'am, the fate of the world is at stake." I said. "I need to be there. If not, something terrible will happen."
'What, Lukas? What is so terrible that you'll abandon your duties here? Aren't you protecting Anna? What happens if her dreams start while you're away?"
I winced with every word she said. Mostly because they were true. "Well…"
"NO! You're not taking my daughter to a warzone!"
"The princess will be fine while I'm gone. I will cast as many protections spells as I can on her. I'll even ask the kingdom's land spirit to keep her safe until I get back…" As I said it, I had a better idea. A much better idea.
"Actually, Tila, I have a better idea than all of that. Look here."
