Chapter 78 - Of Sick Spirits, Black Books and Dragon Scales

I knocked on the door of Master Pilak's lecture room. It was probably the most expensive door ever made. Clear spirit stone that must have cost him a fortune. As far as I knew there was no practical purpose to the spirit stone door, except for perhaps bragging rights. 

His lecture room was just under a thousand years old and was the first room built when he started the Academy.

Now it was surrounded by more modern lecture halls, better-looking lecture halls. And easier courses. 

His class was very exclusive. No more than ten students at any given time and competition to get into it was fierce. 

In the thousand years since he started the Academy, he'd only personally asked ninety-seven students to join his class. I was the latest. Usually, students were suggested by other lecturers. 

And from the sounds of it, a lecture was in progress. 

He would never hear me knocking. I quietly opened the door and took a seat in the back of the room.
