Tila, Sunrise of the Kingdom, and Queen of Arantha was sitting at her desk, buried in a large pile of paperwork when I knocked on her office door.
She looked up and smiled brightly when she saw me.
"You asked to see me, ma'am?"
"Tila, Lukas, how often do I need to tell you?" she sat back in her desk chair and pointed to a chair opposite her.
The queen's office was an elegant affair, dark stained walnut desk, wide open windows, and a dark wooden floor, with a dark green carpet spread across it.
In the middle of the room, to the right of her overflowing desk was a small sitting area, with a few armchairs gathered around a dark-stained coffee table.
I didn't like it.
"Yes, ma'am." I took the chair in front of her desk.
"You're going to make me angry Lukas." She warned.
I bowed my head. "Sorry, Tila. Force of habit."
"Whoever taught you royal etiquette needs to be hanged."
"The king said much the same, ma'-" She raised an eyebrow. "Tila."
