Chapter 8 - Helping the Younger Sister

After having dinner at home, Qin Yue returned home after dark. Her sister was attending high school in another city and would only come to Xicheng when the school officially started, so tonight's family dinner actually only included Qin's dad, Qin's mom, and Qin Yue.

That's fine, it's less trouble.

When Qin Yue returned to her own home, the house was quiet, the maids had all gone home, and only a temporary maid was left.

Bai Ningning had taken off her maid outfit and was wearing a very loose nightgown, looking soft and cozy. When Qin Yue returned home and entered her room, she found Bai Ningning lying on the bed playing with her phone, not even greeting her.

Upon closer inspection, her legs were sprawled out confidently, and her small waist twisted from time to time, exuding a sense of wildness.

Qin Yue thought about the work she had to do tomorrow and held back her feelings.

In the final stage of the company project, if she could endure, she would; if she couldn't, she would find a way to endure.

"Are you starting school the day after tomorrow?" Qin Yue sat down at the edge of the bed.

"Yeah," Bai Ningning continued to play on her phone, "I start the day after tomorrow, and I'm going tomorrow."

At Xicheng University, second-year students enter school a day earlier than first-year students to select courses and so on. Moreover, as seniors, arriving a day early allows them to help the younger students at the school gate the next day.

"What time will you be back after school?" Qin Yue asked.

Bai Ningning thought to herself, didn't you guys used to date? Why are you asking this?

So she replied, "I'll come back at the same time I did last semester."

Qin Yue's expression darkened: "You didn't have time last semester, and even when you did, you often flaked."

Yes, that was true.

"This semester will be different," Bai Ningning said, "I'll definitely be back before ten."

The last class in the afternoon ends at six-thirty, so that should be enough time.

But Qin Yue was clearly not satisfied: "Come back by nine, ten is too late."

"But there might be activities at school, like club events..."

"If there are activities, you can ask for permission. Under normal circumstances, you must be back before nine."

"...How about nine-thirty?"

"Nine-ten at the latest."

Wow, is there really such bargaining?

In the end, they settled on a time before nine-ten, and both felt they had made significant concessions before falling asleep in each other's arms.

Qin Yue initiated the embrace; tonight they couldn't engage in any real action, just a little hand play.

Bai Ningning hesitated for a moment but then wrapped her arms around her too; at least it was more comfortable to sleep this way.

Both felt they slept soundly and softly.

The next morning, Bai Ningning packed a small shoulder bag and headed to Xicheng University with the bank card Qin Yue had given her.

The class QQ group sent out a fee list, and the total for tuition and other fees was over nine thousand. After paying today, she would have only a few hundred left.

At that moment, Bai Ningning suddenly realized a serious problem.

Sleeping with Qin Yue was to pay off a debt of 2.5 million. Being his assistant was to earn the ten thousand yuan tuition fee each semester.

But what about her daily living expenses and pocket money?

"Big Bai Yuan, over here!"

Bai Ningning didn't have time to think of a solution when a classmate's call pulled her back to reality.

Her former roommate, Guan Qian, was the one who had called her after her rebirth.

"Big Bai Yuan, have you paid your fees?" Guan Qian asked as she approached.

"No, I'm just about to transfer money from my bank card."

Transferring the money from this card to the tuition card would be easy and convenient.

"Then hurry up," Guan Qian said, "the class monitor has something important to tell you. He wants you to go to the counselor's office after you're done."

Starting off with something important, isn't that a bad omen?

"Okay, I got it."

"After you're done, do you want to have dinner together? Zhang Rui and the others are coming too."

The "others" Guan Qian mentioned were Bai Ningning's previous roommates.

"No, thanks," Bai Ningning politely declined, "I have something else to do later."

The big sister is strict; she has to go home.

Even though she said she would be back before nine-ten, Bai Ningning didn't dare to actually return right at that time.

"Alright then, contact me on QQ if you need anything."

"Okay."

After transferring the money, Bai Ningning followed her memory to find the counselor's office in the academic affairs building.

She had also graduated from Xicheng University before her rebirth, so she was somewhat familiar with the route.

"Bai Ningning," the class monitor, Xiao Zhang, greeted her, "have a seat."

Xiao Zhang was a tall and sturdy boy in the class, wearing black-rimmed glasses, looking like someone who took his work seriously.

And indeed, he was; after all, being a class monitor meant he only cared about scholarships and graduate school recommendations, with no time for romantic entanglements. Even when facing a beauty like Bai Ningning, he was quite straightforward.

"Bai Ningning, you have a bit of a problem," Xiao Zhang said right away, "it needs to be resolved immediately."

Bai Ningning frowned slightly: "What happened?"

"Your GPA from last semester isn't enough," Xiao Zhang said, "you missed a few classes... but that's not the key issue. The most important problem is that you don't have any points for club activities."

Bai Ningning was shocked: "Why not?"

In the original owner's memory, she had participated in club activities properly.

"Well, it's not your fault; everyone in your club has no points, and the club has been disbanded. Here's what happened..."

After Xiao Zhang explained, Bai Ningning finally understood the situation.

It turned out that the club she joined was called the Tea Art Club, and not long ago, the school leaders visited to observe everyone's club activities, and they just happened to arrive at the Tea Art Club's activity room.

The Tea Art Club, of course, was about discussing tea brewing techniques, enjoying the beautiful moments of every afternoon at three, and exploring the traditional tea culture of China.

Before entering, that's what the school leaders thought, and the accompanying teachers thought the same.

Then—

"Brother, yesterday it was my sister-in-law who took me to find XX from the next class."

"Your sister-in-law must have had her reasons for keeping it from you; don't misunderstand her."

"Yes, that's good. Then I want to ask, how do I ask for money?"

"You still don't understand. Money isn't something you ask for; it's something he should give you voluntarily. You can say it like this..."

Seeing the truth about the tea art club, several teachers were left speechless, and the school leaders turned pale.

Bai Ningning felt a bit dazed, thinking that the original owner had indeed studied tea art, no wonder she could deceive the older sister.

"You must make up your GPA within a month," Xiao Zhang took out an application form, "You can only do this by volunteering to help new students."

At the beginning of the semester, help the younger students with their luggage, guide them to their dormitories and classrooms, and help them get familiar with the school environment. When it's time for military training in the first year, bring them wet wipes and floral water.

In short, it means being a babysitter for the freshmen for two weeks. After that, if you receive at least three good reviews, you'll get the credits for the volunteer work.

Bai Ningning thought for a moment, then sat down beside her with the application form and began to fill it out.

This isn't a difficult task; she just needs to find a few younger classmates at the school gate tomorrow. It's only half a month anyway.
