Malakai wrapped his hair into a low man bun and picked up his briefcase . He walked to the door to leave but was stopped by Eve, who pulled at the back of his knee-length coat.
He turned around. "Eve?"
Eve cleared her throat and outstretched her hand to him. The man lowered his gaze to what she held. A piece of paper.
"What's this?" He collected it.
"I want you to buy those for me."
He read through them and looked at her. "Okay, Yuri will—"
"No!" She shook her. "I want you…to-to buy them for me. They're…stuff for me."
"And you don't have to do it now," she added. "You can just buy them when you're coming home from work."
Malakai stared at her, and unprompted, his lips curled into a smile. He didn't give a response but kept his phone aside and plucked his cell phone out of his pocket.
"Wait for me," he mouthed to her and left the room to beeline for the elevator
The sound of the car drew her to the balcony and she glanced down to find him driving out.
