When I stepped back into the classroom, every pair of eyes turned to me as if I had just achieved some grand milestone. The way they stared, you'd think I had just returned from slaying a dragon.
"Nice drawing," Teru teased, smirking as I passed by.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, shut up. It's because of you that I got caught," I muttered, making a face as I made my way back to my seat.
"Me? What did I do?" she asked, genuinely confused.
I scrunched my nose at her and plopped down in my chair, dismissing the conversation.
A few minutes later, Suhina turned around from the seat behind us, her voice low yet excited. "Exams are coming up soon. Everyone's planning a group study session in the library. You guys coming?"
Nami, who had been lazily flipping through her book, looked up. "Who all is coming?"
"Me, Rian, Tenzin, and… Arin."
My fingers froze mid-doodle. Arin?
I blinked. Not that I cared. Of course not. It wasn't like I had been thinking about our little corridor conversation or anything. Nope. Not at all.
"We should go, Nami! It'll be good for studying," I blurted out before I could stop myself.
Nami arched an eyebrow. "You? Talking about studying?" she asked, suppressing a laugh.
I widened my eyes slightly and put on my best innocent expression. It didn't take her long to understand.
"Ahh, I see how it is," she muttered under her breath, shaking her head.
I ignored her knowing smirk and turned back to Suhina. "Okay, what time?" Nami asked.
"Four in the evening. Be there on time," Suhina said, grinning.
I nodded, trying not to look too eager. But inside, a small flicker of excitement lit up in my chest.
Studying? Yeah, sure. That was totally the reason I was going.
