Hwan slowly swirled the liquid in his glass.
The room was filled with heavy silence.
Yuna watched him closely. The questions boiling inside her finally came out.
"Why do you want this bracelet so much?"
Hwan's face immediately hardened.
His eyes darkened, his lips pressing tightly together.
He gently placed the glass on the table and answered in a cold voice.
"It's none of your business."
Yuna bit her lip and looked away, but she wasn't about to give up.
She reached for the bottle in front of her and poured herself a glass.
Hwan furrowed his brows and watched her.
"What are you doing?"
Yuna shrugged indifferently and raised her glass.
"I'm drinking."
"You've had enough. Don't drink more." Hwan said, his brows knitting together.
But Yuna ignored him. She drank the liquid in one gulp.
"Leave me. I want to get drunk."
"Why?" Hwan asked, his voice softer now.
Yuna smiled, but there was pain in the smile.
"Because… no matter what, I can't leave here, right? You said so."
Hwan looked at her in surprise.
He knew the door was sealed. He hadn't expected Yuna to accept it so quickly.
But Yuna didn't seem to have given up.
She poured another glass.
Hwan tried to stop her, but Yuna suddenly put her finger to Hwan's lips.
"Shh..."
Hwan blinked. In that moment, everything froze.
Yuna's finger lingered on his lips for just a moment.
And that tiny touch… left a strange warmth in his body.
Hwan squinted his eyes, watching Yuna carefully.
"Now you be quiet. It's my turn." Yuna said, smiling faintly.
And she began to speak.
She poured out all the pain, the loneliness, the bullying, her salvation, Eunwoo... everything.
Her voice trembled as she spoke, but she didn't stop.
And finally... tears began to slide down her cheeks.
"Why did you kidnap me? I'm worthless." she whispered. "No one truly loves me... not my friends, not my family, especially not my boss. You're a demon, but you're a mafia leader, Eunwoo is an idol, but he's an angel... if I told someone they'd call me crazy."
Then suddenly, she started laughing.
But in that laugh, there was a broken soul.
Hwan, for the first time, really watched her in admiration.
And Yuna slowly rested her head on Hwan's chest.
Hwan held his breath.
For a moment, just for a moment... he wanted to let her fall asleep like that.
But this night wasn't going to end like this.
Midnight...
Hwan stood in his room, holding the bracelet.
He had taken it.
But... there was a strange unease inside him.
Then... his eyes drifted to Yuna.
She was drunk. Sleeping. But she looked peaceful.
He took a deep breath.
And then, he gathered her in his arms.
Slowly, carefully... he carried her as if she were delicate glass.
And he moved toward the door.
Eunwoo was standing outside the door.
His eyes were hard, but when he saw Yuna in Hwan's arms, he paused for a moment.
Hwan silently approached Eunwoo.
For a moment, their eyes met.
Then Hwan gently extended Yuna toward Eunwoo.
"She got drunk, passed out." he said quietly.
As Eunwoo took Yuna, he realized how light she felt.
At that moment...
Yuna, in her sleepy state, whispered.
"...Eunwoo..."
And... she unconsciously wrapped an arm around Eunwoo's neck.
Hwan's face darkened.
The name that came out of Yuna's mouth… filled him with a strange anger. At the same time, jealousy stirred inside him.
But he didn't show any of it.
He simply took a step back, not taking his eyes off Yuna for a second.
Eunwoo held Yuna tightly and turned to leave.
But just as he was about to go...
Hwan took a deep breath.
And closed his eyes.
That night, for the first time… losing someone truly hurt him.
