Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Six-Tails Society

Chapter 4: Six-Tails Society

"This is a hospital. Is my wife a doctor?"

"Your wife is about to be born."

The strange conversation from the dream kept echoing in Xia Feng's ears, leaving him puzzled.

"Sir, sir!"

"Huh?" Xia Feng suddenly opened his eyes and sat up straight, snapping out of his doze.

"Sir, we have arrived at Six-Tails Manor."

"Oh, okay, thank you."

Xia Feng rubbed his temples and stepped out of the car. As soon as he did, he noticed three people standing at the gate of the manor.

A middle-aged man in a neat suit, his hair slicked back, leaned on a dragon-headed cane. He stared at Xia Feng with a stern expression.

This man was his adoptive father, Wei Shutong.

Of course, though he was called an adoptive father, Xia Feng wasn't particularly close to him. After all, this man, who always kept his hair meticulously slicked back, had 18 adopted sons.

Next to Wei Shutong stood a middle-aged man with a scar over his right eye, wearing a loose dark black martial arts robe.

The man in the martial arts uniform was Zhao Jie, the current acting president of the Six-Tails Society.

As for the person standing upright with his hands behind his back, he was Zhao Jie's disciple—Qi Xiao.

What were they doing here? Xia Feng looked at the acting president with some confusion.

Zhao Jie's one good eye was gray-white. He stared at Xia Feng with an imposing aura, his face indifferent. "Xia Feng, where did you go just now?"

Though confused, Xia Feng still bowed respectfully and replied, "I went to Lord Lister's Mansion to find Mu Qingtong. Why do you ask, Uncle Zhao?"

"Are you planning to cancel the engagement?" Zhao Jie's gray pupils narrowed slightly, his gaze cold and piercing.

Xia Feng looked slightly suspicious and inadvertently glanced at Wei Shutong, who was leaning on his cane and remaining silent. Then he looked at Qi Xiao, who stood behind Zhao Jie with a faint smile on his face.

As if understanding something, Xia Feng smiled and said, "I just went to the Prince's Mansion to talk to Miss Mu. How could that be considered canceling the engagement? Uncle Zhao, where did you hear such baseless rumors?"

Hearing this, Zhao Jie narrowed his gray eyes slightly and glanced coldly at his disciple, Qi Xiao, beside him.

Qi Xiao was also momentarily stunned and said in a deep voice, "My men clearly saw you running red lights all the way to the Prince's Mansion. You didn't even stay in the hospital after the car accident! You rushed into the mansion so angrily, and now you're telling us you just wanted to have a chat with Miss Mu?"

"Yeah, isn't that possible?" Xia Feng said sincerely. "Is it not?"

"You—"

"If Senior Brother Thirteen doesn't believe me, you can just call the Mu Family Manor and ask."

Xia Feng smiled. "Ask her if we had a good chat tonight and if I ever mentioned breaking off the engagement."

At this moment, Xia Feng began to piece things together.

Why had Cha Naxue suddenly introduced him to a fiancée? It turned out she had teamed up with Qi Xiao. He guessed Qi Xiao had promised her some benefits.

As for Qi Xiao's motive, it was likely for the rare inherited spirit robe of the Six-Tails Society—the Six-Tails Spirit Robe.

Qi Xiao saw that Xia Feng looked very confident and didn't seem to be lying. He frowned, feeling uneasy. Damn, he'd been careless.

But even if Xia Feng wasn't planning to break off the engagement and cause trouble, why had he rushed over so urgently? He'd been in the hospital but still insisted on going to see Mu Qingtong. Could it really have just been a chat?

But it didn't matter. It wouldn't affect the overall situation anyway! Qi Xiao narrowed his brown eyes and raised a gentle smile at the corner of his lips. "So, Junior Brother agrees to marry into the Mu family?"

"Of course, Miss Mu is beautiful and gentle. Why would I refuse?" Xia Feng smiled.

"Speaking of which, I have to thank my senior brother for his behind-the-scenes support." He shook Qi Xiao's hand with sincerity. "Thank you!"

This was the truth.

Qi Xiao's eyes twitched slightly. Indeed, he had seen Mu Qingtong's photos. She was ridiculously beautiful. Damn, this guy had gotten lucky!

But it wasn't a big deal. After all, a noble lady like Mu Qingtong, who was sought after by thousands, wasn't someone Xia Feng could handle!

Comforting himself with these thoughts, Qi Xiao regained his composure. He turned back and clasped his fists, saying, "Master, since Xia Feng is about to marry into the family, he is no longer eligible to compete for the Six-Tails Spirit Robe. I request to end the spirit robe competition early!"

In truth, Xia Feng himself had no interest in the Six-Tails Spirit Robe and no intention of competing with Qi Xiao. With his talent, it would take him a long time to learn how to use the Six-Tails Robe.

But now, he didn't need talent—because the Witch of Destruction had it!

"Okay," Zhao Jie nodded calmly and looked at the middle-aged man in the suit beside him. "Old Wei, do you have any objections?"

Wei Shutong's expression showed no emotion. He tapped his cane and said, "Since Xia Feng is no longer eligible to compete, I have no objection. Let's announce the result."

"Excuse me," Xia Feng blinked. "Old Wei, I have something to say."

Wei Shutong frowned and glanced at him but ignored him, turning around to leave. "Let's all go."

"Old Wei, don't be impatient," Zhao Jie followed slowly and said with a smile. "The bet was 200,000. You've lost. Remember to transfer the money when you get back."

Seeing this, Qi Xiao curled the corners of his lips slightly, glanced at Xia Feng, and quickly followed Zhao Jie's pace.

The three of them walked away.

Hey, look at my temper! Xia Feng knew that actions spoke louder than words. There was no need to explain too much about some things.

The Six-Tails Society advocated that the strong were respected. Of course, another way to put it was that interests were respected. As long as visible benefits were in place, some people would naturally change their attitude for you.

He clasped his hands together suddenly, and a moon-white spiritual current instantly spread out from his palms, humming—

Under the moonlit ancient tree, the young man's black hair danced wildly in the wind. The three people who were about to step into the manor suddenly stopped and looked back in confusion.
