Chapter 38 - Dark Farm 34

Wan Qian immediately made a decision, speaking firmly, "What are you waiting for?! Let HR take him for registration."

Cough, cough , the head of the production department quietly reminded, "Farm owner, we don't have an HR department."

Wan Qian: "..."

She looked at the head of the production department and said kindly, "Then, I'll leave it to you, Xiao Si. Didn't you say he's very good at researching feed? He'll be part of your department from now on.

"Yes." The head of the production department gave a subtle grimace and responded quietly.

Wan Qian turned to the new employee, about to call his name with a friendly tone, but then froze.

"Uh... you..."

The butler perfectly timed his reminder, "Liu Fu."

"Oh, right." Wan Qian followed along, "Liu Fu, if there are no issues, please go sign the contract with the butler today."

Liu Fu's two heads both nodded and accidentally bumped into each other. With a "bang" sound, it hurt just by hearing it.

Wan Qian: "..."

She silently reminded herself, free, it's free. Even though it didn't seem very smart, at least it was free.

"If there's nothing else, you can leave now." Wan Qian said.

"Yes." The head of the production department was the first to leave, followed by Liu Fu.

Wan Qian noticed that as Liu Fu walked out the door, he would occasionally trip over his own feet, nearly falling in her office. It seemed as if his body wasn't his own and he couldn't control it for the time being.

Wan Qian kept telling herself in her mind, It's free, it's free.

She convinced herself, and then turned to the butler, offering her praise generously, "You did well."

The butler bowed gently, replying in a warm tone, "Your understanding is the greatest help for me to do this job well."

Look at this, this is what it means to know how to speak! Wan Qian felt comfortable, and increasingly felt that her great-uncle's decision to arrange such a butler for her was a wise one. Otherwise, just relying on herself, the farm would probably have already been acquired by the rival.

As she thought about it, Wan Qian asked, "By the way, have those people been dealt with?"

The butler looked somewhat apologetic, lowering his head and avoiding direct eye contact with Wan Qian.

"I'm sorry, they've been hiding quite discreetly recently. To completely eliminate them, it might still take some time."

Wan Qian waved her hand, not wanting to put too much pressure on the butler.

"It's fine, take your time."

Several days passed, and half of the two-week internship period had already gone by. The interns who had originally entered the farm together had now dwindled from 24 to just 17.

In the past few days, two people died because they hadn't checked their bed sheets before going to sleep. It wasn't until they died in their beds that everyone realized there was an extra layer of green bed sheets beneath their white ones.

Farm Employee Code of Conduct, Rule 4: "The bed sheets are white, and the blankets are blue. Please make sure that the color of the bed sheets and blankets is correct when you go to bed."

As for the people working late, besides the glasses-wearing man and the fatty, and Jiang You, two more had joined them.

The wardrobe in the dormitory continued to make noise, but some people had started to get used to it. Every evening after dinner, they would quickly go to the bathroom to take a shower, then go to bed to ensure they could get enough sleep before the wardrobe noise woke them up.

However, the lightbulbs in the bathroom were gradually decreasing. Most of the incandescent bulbs were broken, and half of the bathroom was plunged into darkness. Most people were unwilling to shower in those pitch-black cubicles, and the remaining well-lit ones were also decreasing.

There had also been several conflicts over the right to use the bathroom stalls with lights. Wu Hao, relying on the fact that few dared to compete with him, always managed to take the best spots.

One day, as he looked at the half-empty bottle of shower gel in the bathroom, Wu Hao had a different thought.

By using the shower gel every day, recently, his work had become increasingly easier. He didn't need to do much; those toads would come close on their own to eat the feed he provided.

But he wasn't the only one who knew this rule. If Tian Fang had told other people, others would also start using shower gel, and the bottle would run out quickly. He wondered if the farm would continue to replenish it.

To prevent this from happening, Wu Hao decided to take the remaining shower gel for himself. If he was the only one using it, it would definitely last until the end of the internship period.

He squeezed the pump hard, forcing all the liquid into his palms, and only stopped when there was none left in the bottle.

However, as he turned around, his elbow accidentally knocked the shower head, and immediately, warm water flowed down. In an instant, the shower gel Wu Hao was holding in his palm was quickly diluted by the water.

Instinctively, Wu Hao hurriedly applied the diluted shower gel to his body.

Maybe this will work? he thought. If used more, perhaps the effect could last for several more days.

It was a long while before Wu Hao finally pushed open the bathroom door and walked out.

Just as he passed the door, he bumped into Wan Qian, who was heading in to shower.

"Whoa!" Wan Qian stepped back, covering her nose.

A strong, fishy smell lingered in the air. It was like the odor of fish that had been dead for a long time, even starting to rot—both rancid and foul. Didn't this person feel it at all?

Wan Qian looked at Wu Hao, who clearly seemed to have just taken a shower, yet he still smelled so bad.

She furrowed her brows, shaking her head in confusion, before walking into the bathroom.

Tian Fang, following right behind, noticed Wan Qian's reaction and quietly observed Wu Hao.

Wan Qian quickly put the incident out of her mind, but Tian Fang kept thinking about it.
