Chapter 38 - Silvermist Private Academy

Next day.

The morning sunlight streamed gently through the half-drawn curtains, casting warm patterns across the bed.

Ethan stirred, slowly opening his eyes to the familiar softness of his room. His arms were still wrapped around Lilith, her body warm and pressed against his.

Her silver-white hair was spread across the pillow like a silken sheet, and her breathing was slow, steady, and peaceful.

'Fuck. What a sight,' he thought, his heart pounding.

He took a moment to appreciate the view, taking in the details of her gorgeous face.

The soft, subtle features, the gentle curve of her cheekbones, the smooth contour of her lips.

'God, she's beautiful...'

Unable to resist, he reached up, tracing the tips of his fingers along her jawline, her skin soft and smooth like velvet.

Lilith stirred, a content sigh escaping her lips.

"Morning, baby," she breathed, her crimson eyes fluttering open, a smile curling her lips.

"Hi," he greeted, a small grin forming.

"Sleep well?"

"Yes, I did," he replied.

"Me too. You make a wonderful teddy bear."

Ethan laughed, rolling his eyes.

"Whatever. Just admit you enjoyed cuddling."

"Maybe, maybe not."

She kissed him on the nose, her fingers playing with his messy hair.

Ethan just smiled faintly. It was comforting in a way he hadn't expected. Just quiet, warm, and calm.

They lay there for a few minutes, neither one in a hurry to break the silence.

Then, he looked at the holo clock on the wall and saw that it was already 7:03 am.

"Damn, is it that time already? I gotta get ready," he groaned.

"Hmm, that's unfortunate. You have no idea how comfortable it is sleeping with you."

"I can imagine," he said, stretching his limbs.

Lilith chuckled.

"Well, good luck. Try not to hurt yourself."

"I'll do my best."

With that, Ethan hopped out of bed and made his way to the bathroom.

After washing up and brushing his teeth, Ethan stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wake him fully. A few minutes later, he was dried, dressed, and heading down to the dining area, still rubbing his damp hair with a towel.

As he stepped into the kitchen, he was surprised to see a hot breakfast already waiting for him.

"Hey, thanks," he greeted.

"You're welcome. Dig in," Liliana responded.

A fluffy omelet, some golden toast, fresh fruit, and a warm cup of tea greeted him.

"This is amazing, Lili," he commented, his stomach rumbling.

"Just enjoy it. It's the least I can do for you."

"Again, thank you," he replied, smiling.

They ate their breakfast in comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts.

After a while, Liliana stood up, taking her plate and placing it in the dishwasher.

"Are you done?"

"Yeah, thanks."

"Great. I'll see you in the car. Don't be late."

"Got it," he said, nodding.

With that, she exited the room, leaving him alone.

He finished eating quickly, grabbed his bag, and stepped outside.

A sleek, high-end car waited in the driveway. It wasn't flashy, but it was clearly custom-made and incredibly advanced.

This sports car was built by one of the companies owned by her sister. From what he knew, it was one of the best cars ever made—and the only one of its kind.

It had been a custom gift for his 16th birthday. She had asked the company to design and manufacture this one exclusive car just for him.

It was the perfect balance of style and speed, and it was equipped with an array of technological upgrades, allowing it to perform even better.

He slid into the driver's seat, the interior clean and smooth, and tapped the dashboard.

"Destination: Silvermist Private Academy," he said.

"Understood."

The car beeped in confirmation, then smoothly backed out and merged onto the road as Ethan took the wheel.

He had earned his license two years ago at sixteen, and he enjoyed the peace that driving alone brought.

Silvermist Private Academy—one of the most elite private high schools in the world, with its own focus on preparing students with awakened superpowers.

The Awakening Ceremony had just finished nationwide, and because his birthday was on the final eligible day, Ethan's ceremony was the last one. Now, the month of preparation before Superpower College Exams began today.

Thankfully, the last two days had been official holidays to give students time to settle their powers.

So he didn't have to go to the academy, but today is the day when the school starts back up, and he needs to go there as today is the day when they will be told part of the exam details and what they need to prepare.

Ethan drove smoothly, the streets mostly quiet, with only a few students commuting this early.

As he approached the school gates, he slowed down, flashing his ID.

"Good morning, sir," the gatekeeper greeted.

"Morning," he replied, waving as the barrier opened and allowed him inside.

"Have a good day, sir."

"Thanks. You, too."

The school campus was massive, a blend of old-world charm and cutting-edge tech. Trees lined the walkways, and buildings had sleek designs with energy-efficient panels and advanced security systems everywhere.

Parking in the designated student lot, Ethan stepped out and adjusted his jacket. The uniform was simple: a black blazer with silver trim, a white shirt, and dark trousers.

Elegant and comfortable.

The air was crisp, the morning sun filtering through the branches above, painting the ground in dappled light.

As he closed the car door, he heard voices.

"Ethan! Over here!"

Turning, he saw the Moonshade twins—Evelyn and Everly—waving to him with bright smiles.

They looked stunning as always, their matching uniforms perfectly tailored, their long silver hair fluttering in the breeze.

"Morning," he greeted, walking over.

"Morning," Evelyn grinned.

"How are you?" Everly asked, her blue eyes sparkling.

"Doing great, now that I've seen your lovely faces."

The girls giggled, their cheeks flushing pink.

"Charmer," Evelyn teased, elbowing him lightly.

"It's true," Ethan replied with a chuckle.

"You know, you don't have to come on so strong," Evelyn chided, a playful smirk on her lips.

"What, a guy can't compliment a pair of gorgeous girls without being accused of trying to get in their pants?"

"Of course you can, but..."

"But?"

"Nothing," Evelyn sighed.

Everly stifled a laugh.

"Fine, keep your secrets," Ethan relented.

"Good. Now, let's get inside. Class starts soon."
