Chapter 18 - A Brother’s Gamble

Arya sighed, "And don't forget to take your medicine before you sleep. I know you'll forget."

Before Aisha could respond, he grabbed her hand.

"What are you doing?" she asked, confused.

"Sit down on the bed," Arya said. She obeyed, and he added, "Wait here. Don't move. I'll go to the kitchen and bring water and your medicine."

As Arya turned to leave, Aisha suddenly gripped his left hand.

"Don't go," she said softly. "I know you always worry about me because I'm your younger sister."

Arya shook his head. "I don't take care of you just because you're my sister. I do it because I love you."

Aisha looked at him with warmth in her eyes.

"I don't care what happens to me," Arya continued. "As long as you're happy, that's enough for me. You are my everything."

Aisha smiled. "I know, Brother. You love me."

She lowered her gaze for a moment before looking back at him. "I love you too—more than anything. I never ask for anything, but you always give me everything I need. I'm so lucky to have you as my brother."

Then she stood up. "You can't see, so I'll go myself. I'll take the medicine, and from now on, I'll take care of you. Whatever you need, I'll do it for you."

Arya sighed. "Fine. I can never win against you when we talk."

Aisha pouted. "You just came back from an S-rank mission. You're exhausted and injured. Please rest, and leave the rest to me."

Arya tried to argue, but before he could, Aisha cut him off.

"No more talking. Just go to sleep, please."

Arya chuckled. "Alright. Goodnight." He turned to leave the room.

Just as he reached the door, Aisha called out, "Brother."

He turned back, and she walked toward him, gently grabbing his right hand with both of hers and placing it on her head.

"Promise me," she whispered. "Promise me you won't go out anymore. I get scared when I'm alone. I'm afraid… afraid that they'll take me away like they took Mother. Please… don't leave me alone."

Tears streamed down her face.

Arya couldn't see them, but he felt her pain.

He cupped her face and wiped her tears away. "Don't worry. Your brother will never leave you alone. That's a promise."

She sniffled, still holding onto him.

"If you cry, I'll cry with you," Arya said gently. "So don't cry, okay? Just take your medicine and rest. Don't overthink things."

"Say it with me," Arya added softly.

Aisha took a deep breath and said, "Okay… together."

Satisfied, Arya smiled and finally left the room.

Arya stepped out from behind the bookshelf as the secret passage closed behind him. This was his personal room, with a bed in the corner. Slowly, he made his way to the bed and sat down.

"I promised Aisha I wouldn't go out," he thought. "But if it's for her sake, I have no choice."

He clenched his fists.

"I got the money. I'll buy the medicine, and once she recovers, we'll leave this city. We'll go to a peaceful village and live a normal life. No more assassins, no more danger—just happiness."

Determined, he set an alarm on his phone for 4 AM. "I have to wake up early," he murmured before lying down to sleep.

---

At 4 AM, Arya's alarm buzzed softly. He quickly turned it off, sitting up on the bed.

"This will be difficult since I can't see," he thought.

Moving carefully to avoid making noise, he used his sense of touch to navigate the room. His hands brushed against the walls as he slowly made his way to the main door. If Aisha woke up, she would try to stop him.

He reached the door, opened it quietly, and slipped outside, closing it behind him.

Using his sensing ability, he scanned his surroundings and began walking forward. He pulled out his phone, relying on the location guide to lead him. Step by step, he moved like a normal person, masking his blindness.

After 25 minutes, he arrived at a special assassin supply store.

Pushing the door open, he entered. The store operated entirely through online transactions, with no cash payments allowed.

A worker approached him.

"Hello, sir! I'm Av, a worker here. If you need anything, I'll assist you."

"I need medicine," Arya said.

Av nodded. "Medicine is on the 5th floor. Please follow me."

Arya focused on Av's scent and the sound of his footsteps, using them as a guide.

Soon, Av stopped. Arya listened carefully—it was the sound of an elevator opening. They both stepped inside.

As the elevator ascended, Av asked, "Sir, could you tell me what type of medicine you need? It'll make it easier to find."

"Blue Liquid Medicine," Arya replied.

Silence.

"Sir… can you repeat that?" Av asked, sounding shocked.

"Blue Liquid Medicine," Arya repeated.

Av hesitated. "Sir, you want Blue Liquid Medicine?"

Arya frowned. "Do you have it or not?"

"We do… but it's extremely rare," Av admitted. "We only have one or two bottles, and they're very expensive."

The elevator doors opened onto the 5th floor. They stepped out, and Av led Arya deeper into the shop.

"How much does it cost?" Arya asked.

Av sighed. "12 million NP per bottle."

Arya's breath hitched. He had expected it to be expensive, but 12 million NP was far beyond what he imagined.

He clenched his jaw.

"I don't even know if it'll work… but I have no choice."

Arya took a deep breath.

"I don't care about the money. I only want to save her at any cost," he thought. "When I read books about her condition, they mentioned that Blue Liquid Medicine could help her recover. If I only buy one, what if I need another later and it's no longer available? It's too rare."

He made up his mind. He needed two bottles.

Av hesitated. "Sir, are you sure you want this?"

Arya frowned. "Don't judge me by my looks. I have the money to buy it."

Av quickly shook his head. "No, sir, you misunderstood. It's not about your appearance. It's just that this is a rare medicine, and only high-ranking members are usually allowed to purchase it."

Arya's expression remained firm. "I need two bottles of Blue Liquid Medicine."

Av's eyes widened. "Two? But we only have two in stock…"

"That's fine. I'll take both," Arya said without hesitation.

Av checked the system. "The total cost is 24 million NP, sir."

Arya nodded. "It's okay. Just give them to me."
