Shelly have been working for three months now, settling into the new city,the bustling street,busy and crowded walkways,the horns of vehicles and trucks driving by the shop.
Shelly was attending to customers when she spotted a familiar face walking into the shop.
"hey shelly" said a young lady about the same age as Shelly,her name is Maria.
Maria lives with her parents in the street across from heaven ecstacy bakery,she always come over for some pastries in the morning,she was a nice and jovial girl so she quickly became good friends with Shelly.
'Hi maria'replied Shelly",are you here so early to bask in the divine aroma of the bakery or should I serve you the usual?" , while she continues serving customers.
"'give me the usual, don't forget to come over after work hours to my house for a get together''said maria.
After closing hours,Shelly went over to Maria's house.
'knock knock',She knocked on the door and was invited in by Maria's mom.
"hi there Shelly, Maria is in her room, come on in.dinner will be ready soon,do join us sweetie".said Maria's mom.
Mrs Laura, Maria's mom is very fond of Shelly,she thought the lady was hardworking and a nice looking lady,she wanted her daughter to be good friends with Shelly.
"Thank you Mrs Laura", said Shelly as she walked towards Maria's room.
"Shelly"exclaimed Maria,"i thought you were not going to come.i have so much tea to spill, I'm practically bursting with it".
"Spill girl, I'm all ears" chirped Shelly.
" Do you know that we are having our annual town festival next month?, it's a gathering of singles that are ready to mingle"
"Wow,that would be interesting maria, but I have no interest in mingling."
"Oh,here I thought you would invite Jesse your boss so we all can have fun and maybe sparks of romance flames may ignite"
"oh Maria,I heard Jesse got divorced recently and might need time and space to heal before venturing into a new relationship? Don't you think so "
"Shelly!, he's been divorced for over a year now,why should he continue to suffer because of his cheating dog of an ex wife.poor Jesse"
" Maria, are you in his heart or do you have feelings for my boss..."
" Nonsense, Jesse is a gentleman, the only feeling I have for him is pity, it's such a shame what he suffered at the hands of his ex-wife"said Maria.
"Girls, dinner is ready"Laura called out.
" we are coming mom"replied maria
Both girls went to join Mrs Laura and had a sumptuous dinner.
