Broken pieces of furniture, broken plates. splayed sofas and bed,torn wallpaper and ransacked wardrobe.
My clothes littered the apartment, whatever little valuables that I have would all be gone. i have hidden some cash in that wardrobe to pay rent.
I'm sure that I would never find my late mother's favorite bracelet that she gave me,my heart froze over, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My fingers trembled as I try to contact someone, thoughts running through my mind 'what if the person or people who broke into my apartment are still around? Who should I call? Maria or my boss Jesse? I hear my phone ringing before I could come to terms with the Catastrophe that's my room and my situation.
I looked at my phone and saw my Boss calling,I picked up my phone in a semi daze.
"Hi Shelly,I heard from Maria that you have gone so I'm calling to make sure you got home safe.." my cold heart thawed,my heart felt warm.
" I did arrive safely Jesse but there's a bit of a situation in my apartment" I say as i choked with tears.
" Stay there,I will be right over" replied Jesse " stay with me on the line,I want to know that you are safe"he said
Five minutes later, Jesse drove into my apartment driveway,he jogged to me , draw me into his arms and hugged me.
"It's alright" he said "it's going to be okay, you are safe, I'm here" he whispered into my ears. His warm breath tickled my ears as I feel my heartbeat slowed,I must have been hyperventilating.
