The next day at practice, the atmosphere in the dance studio felt different. The speakers blasted the beat-heavy track as Neon-Hype moved in sync, but something was off. Or rather, Kai was off.
"Kai, what the hell?" East groaned, pausing the routine. "You're completely off-beat today."
Kai let out a harsh breath, rubbing his face with both hands. "I know, I know. I'm just…" His eyes darted toward Noah, standing across the room, arms folded, staring at him too intently.
Mick, naturally, picked up on everything and made a point of milking it. "Aww, is someone distracted?" he cooed, slinging an arm around Kai's shoulders.
"Shut up," Kai growled, shrugging him off.
Mick smiled like a cat that had trapped a mouse. "Perhaps someone remembers something from last night, after all."
Kai tensed. His heart was racing so loudly it was a wonder nobody else could hear it.
Noah remained silent, but his dark eyes lingered.
