Kai had thought initially that Noah was just embarrassed about what had transpired between the two of them. It only made sense—Noah was always closed-off when it came to feelings, and after a night such as that, it only seemed natural that he would take a little time to get his head around things.
Kai waited. He gave Noah some space, thinking that in a few days, perhaps a week, everything would be okay. But weeks went by, and Noah's attitude was still the same—cold, distant, and entirely not speaking with him.
Frustration seethed inside Kai. He couldn't help but wonder why Noah was behaving like this. Like their night together hadn't mattered at all, or worse, like Kai himself had done something terrible. He wanted explanations, and if Noah wasn't going to provide them, he'd get them from someone who might.
This is how Kai stood in front of Cherry, arms folded and face stern.
"Cherry," he began, attempting to maintain an even tone. "What's wrong with Noah?"
