author's note: this chapter will change gradually, along with the publication progress of the novels. I also added some easter eggs to help you remember the person or event or anything that will be explained further or has a more significant role in the later episodes.
Episode 01 : Purple Orchid Garden
Main guardian Moying of Yumen Sect was taking his sole disciple Hua Jinshui to a place named Purple Orchid Garden. While avoiding any martial figures along the way, Jinshui learned that his master and his fellow guardians had received a special task from the late leader of Yumen to collect eight children as their descendants after the destruction of their sect.
The eight children were:
Hua Jinshui : the descendant of the Main Guardian Moying (Eagle Fiend), the leader
Huang Yu: the descendant of Chailang (Wild Wolf), the tracker
Lin Jixuan : the descendant of Xiezhang (Bloody Palm), the menace
Qin Liangjie : the descendant of Menggui (Dream Angel), the muscle
Li Qian : the descendant of Ducao (Poison Grass), the healer
Liao Xian : the descendant of Baigu (White Corpse), the brain
Zhu Baique : the descendant of Huling (Fox Spirit), the spy
Liuxin : the descendant of Shuiyao (Water Fairy), the princess
The guardians gathered in Purple Orchid Garden to discuss the next step, and what to do after collecting their descendants. Guardian Shuiyao proposed to transfer the guardian's inner energy to the children and leave them in order to keep the secrecy of the future plan to rebuild their sect.
Main descendant Hua Jinshui was first introduced as a child here, and it was his first time to meet his fellow descendants.
Easter egg: Guardian Menggui asked Shuiyao : "Sister, did he treat you well?". She was referring to Shuiyao's husband, who is a prince.
Episode 02 : Miss Xu Qiao
Seven years after the event in the first episode, we are introduced to a 14-year-old girl named Xu Qiao. She was the daughter of the owner of Huofeng Lou (Fire and Wind Tower) in Anhui Province. Xu Qiao ran away from home after his father took a second wife, something actually very common in that era. She just simply disliked her stepmother, without any specific reason.
Xu Qiao helped a pair of husband and wife who were hunted by the men from Wansui Gu (Poison Valley), and accidentally poisoned during a fight. She escaped after her stepmother, whom she disliked, came to the rescue. Xu Qiao managed to escape alone.
She met a young man soon after, and while asking for help to sneak into the Haitang Jian Pai (Haitang Sword Clan) headquarters, she was delivered to a forest when she fell into an underground cave, where she met Jinshui who was kept prisoner there. Jinshui revealed that he had been there for eight months after he was captured by the leader of Haitang Sword Clan, Yuan Wancui.
Jinsui and Xu Qiao's first meeting was simple, their conversation was the real introduction to the whole story. Jinshui told Xu Qiao about the Yumen Sect and how the guardians had already chosen the descendants. He also told her that he already received his master's inner energy and that he would use it to rebuild his sect one day.
Easter egg: the young man Xu Qiao asked for help from who accidentally delivered her to Jinshui. He should not let Jinshui meet and fall in love with a girl from the righteous party.
Episode 03 : A Nightmare
Jinshui was already poisoned too, but he was able to keep the poison from damaging his body using the inner energy given by his master Moying. Realizing that there was a way out of his prison cave, he took Xu Qiao to Haitang Sword Clan headquarters to find his xuanlong sword, the precious relic of his destroyed sect.
Soon after, the poison in Xu Qiao's body reacted and Jinshui had to take her away before the enemy found them. Fights broke out in the forest and Jinshui was helped by his fellow descendant Baique. He managed to take Xu Qiao back to the cave for safety but he had to leave the injured Baique. Baique's fate was unknown until a later episode.
Jinshui could not maintain the inner energy inside him and accidentally transferred the zhaobai poison in his body to Xu Qiao. He was free but by doing so he put Xu Qiao's life in grave danger.
The pair left the underground cave because Jinshui didn't want to continue becoming Yuan Wancui's prisoner. He wanted to find other descendants, cure Xu Qiao, and gain his freedom.
Easter egg: Baique saw a pair of slender legs coming closer before she passed out. Someone helped her, but it would be a debt of gratitude she had to pay later.
Episode 04 : A Short Happiness
Jinshui and Xu Qiao met two old men in a hut on the mountain who gave them advice to get the antidote directly to its source, Poison Valley. But since Xu Qiao was a girl from a conservative family and she didn't want to have anything to do with the poison masters, she rejected the idea.
Huang Yu came to find Jinshui. Realizing that he was the one who sent Xu Qiao in the first place, and it was a mistake, Huang Yu contacted Bao Xinfei, and persuaded her to take Xu Qiao from Jinshui.
Upon learning that Jinshui was the only hope for Xu Qiao, Bao Xinfei gave him a month before she took Xu Qiao home.
Easter egg: The old man Lao Feng and his servant Duanmeng.
Episode 05 : The Murder of Two Families
With the help of Huang Yu, Jinshui removed the two types of poison in Xu Qiao's body and injected them into his own. It was a great pain to him, but it was a greater pain when he had to let go of the girl he liked so much.
Huang Yu planned to take Jinshui to his hometown in Luoyang City to recuperate. But his home was burnt and his parents were gone. They learned about the rumor in the martial world lately regarding the treasure of the Sword God Zhang Zheliang, and it might bring trouble to Xu Family as well as to Huang Family. Worrying something bad might happen to Xu Qiao, Jinshui rushed to go after her.
Jinshui and Huang Yu was one step late. The Xu Family massacre already happened, leaving only the four disciples of Xu Chenghai, Bao Xinfei and Xu Qiao who weren't home at the time. Bao Xinfei expressed her suspicion to Huang Yu that the killer was someone from Yumen Sect.
News regarding Huang Yu's parent came, and Huang Yu rushed to find them, followed by Jinshui. They found Huang Yu's parents engaging in a fight with some men and a girl from Wansui Gu. Huang Yu was supposed to be able to save his parents, using the inner energy given by his master Chailang. But he was helpless when a mysterious man and his skinny friend suddenly came and killed his parents using some secret weapons.
