The moment Estella stepped into the study, the air shifted. Both Crassus and Caspian turned toward her immediately, two pairs of eyes observing her closely. Crassus's expression softened at once, his gaze scanning her from head to toe as if checking for any sign of weakness. Without hesitation, he crossed the room in three long strides, cupping her face gently between his large hands.
"Why didn't you rest after waking up?" Crassus's voice was low, almost scolding, but beneath it simmered deep concern. His thumb brushed her cheek tenderly. "Why are you walking around already?"
Estella gave him a small smile, attempting to ease the tension between his brows. "I'm fine now. Really," she reassured softly. "I've rested enough."
But Crassus didn't look convinced. His eyes lingered on her face for a few more beats before he sighed heavily, taking her hand and guiding her over to the large chair behind his desk. He settled her down into it like she was something fragile, precious.
