After Jia Fuhai signed the documents, the business owners went outside to wait for their employees to come and get their cakes.
Although the employees who arrived later hadn't eaten the cake yet, they immediately understood what was happening when they saw so many people gathered.
While the business owners didn't all know each other, they were mostly familiar from property management meetings. The housing prices in the Baihu Community ensured that it was populated by wealthy individuals.
Some of the attendees even began discussing business matters with each other, and what had started as a cake tasting turned into an impromptu business networking event.
"Dad, try this," a young man eagerly handed a piece of cake to his father. Though the young man didn't understand much about business, he saw how many people were rushing to get the cake and figured it must be something special.
The father, who had worked tirelessly for his career while his son reaped the benefits, took a bite. "Wow, this is delicious!" he exclaimed.
The son nodded, "Right? Look at how many people are rushing to get it. It's made from just flour, honey, and eggs, and it's prepared fresh on-site."
His father, realizing the potential, said, "I need to go discuss cooperation," before rushing into the factory. He couldn't afford to waste any more time. He had already arrived late, and now, thanks to his son's initiative, he saw an opportunity.
Meanwhile, back at Jiaji Factory, Zhen Linna, concerned for Jia Fuhai, handed him a glass of water. "Brother Hai, have some water."
Jia Fuhai, after taking a sip, said, "That's all for now." He glanced at the business cards he'd collected, noticing representatives from a variety of industries. "These connections could be useful," he thought, but then smiled, knowing that he preferred spending his wife's money over using these business contacts.
Employees who had arrived by bus now arranged rides home, each making sure to greet Jia Fuhai before leaving. Some stayed behind to network, discussing potential business collaborations. But Jia Fuhai didn't concern himself with those details.
Just then, Zhou Jin walked in. "Xiao Jia," he called.
"Uncle Zhou! I thought you had left."
Zhou Jin grinned, "I saw how busy you were, so I decided to step away for a bit." He had been indulging in the food samples. "But I need a cake too, Xiao Jia. You've got to hook me up."
"Of course, Uncle Zhou. You can just ask Director Gao directly."
Zhou Jin shook his head, "No, this is business. My employees can have this cake for their meals from now on. Let's work something out."
"No problem, Uncle Zhou," Jia Fuhai agreed easily. It was a simple request.
At that moment, Chen Xiaofeng arrived, calling out to Jia Fuhai.
Zhou Jin excused himself, "I'll let you handle your business. Take care, Xiao Jia."
"Take care, Uncle Zhou," replied Jia Fuhai. He turned to Chen Xiaofeng and asked, "Why are you still here? Didn't you get enough cake?"
Chen Xiaofeng chuckled, "I had someone take the cakes back. But I wanted to let you know we've created a new group. I made it for you, Brother Jia." He showed Jia Fuhai a QR code for the group.
Chen Xiaofeng had sensed the business potential in the gathering and quickly organized a group chat to stay connected with everyone.
Seeing the group's name, "Jia Ji Cake No.1," Jia Fuhai smiled and scanned the QR code.
"Brother Jia, how about treating me to a meal? I've got something else to discuss with you," Chen Xiaofeng suggested.
But before Jia Fuhai could respond, Zhen Linna interjected, "Brother Hai has to go home and cook for us."
Disappointed but understanding, Chen Xiaofeng said, "Next time, sister-in-law."
Curious, Jia Fuhai asked, "What do you want to discuss?"
"Brother Jia, did you know I have a live streaming platform?"
"I didn't know," replied Jia Fuhai, not particularly interested in the topic.
"Well, now you do!" Chen Xiaofeng continued enthusiastically. "I was thinking, Brother Jia, you should do a live stream at the factory. It'd be great for exposure. I don't even need any tips; I just want to help attract some traffic."
Live streaming could bring more attention to Jia Ji and help it become famous, but the idea had only just occurred to Chen Xiaofeng.
"Sure, whatever," said Jia Fuhai, seeing no harm in it.
"I'll contact Director Gao to set it up," said Chen Xiaofeng excitedly.
As Chen Xiaofeng went to talk to Director Gao, Zhen Linna leaned over and whispered to Jia Fuhai, "That guy is clever. By helping us with the live stream, his platform will also benefit once Jiaji becomes well-known."
"Yeah, but at least he's being upfront about it. If I didn't allow the live stream, people might start wondering why, and that would be worse. It's better to let a smart person like Xiaofeng handle it. He's making it a win-win for both of us."
"True," Zhen Linna said, then pouted playfully, "But enough about that! Brother Hai, I'm hungry. Let's go home and eat!"
Laughing, Jia Fuhai teased, "You've already eaten so much! But alright, I'll make sure you sleep in tomorrow." He smirked mischievously.
The two of them prepared to leave, but before they could, Chen Xiaofeng came out and called, "Brother Jia, you're being unfair!"
"You took plenty of cake too," Jia Fuhai teased back.
But Chen Xiaofeng's mind was elsewhere. He had heard about Brother Jia's cooking skills from Zhen Linna and decided to take a shot. "Brother Jia, can I join you for dinner? I'd love to try your cooking."
Jia Fuhai stared at him in disbelief. "I admire your audacity!" he exclaimed.
Chen Xiaofeng shamelessly replied, "Hey, Brother Jia, if the cake tastes so good when it's made by a machine, I can only imagine how amazing your cooking must be!"
"Fine, just this once," agreed Jia Fuhai, recognizing Chen Xiaofeng's role in helping the factory with the live stream.
"Thank you, Brother Jia! I'll ride with you. I live in the same area, just not in the same building," Chen Xiaofeng said with a satisfied grin.
With that, the three of them got in the car and headed back to the Baihu Community.
