Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

"Sea Brother, why do you want me to come in?" Zhen Linna asked with a pout. She still wanted to eat more.

"Stop eating, or you'll get fat!" Looking at Zhen Linna, who was still munching, Jia Fuhai felt a bit helpless.

"It's fine; aren't you training me every day? It's nothing," Zhen Linna said, unable to resist the temptation of such delicious food.

"Alright, come on in and try making it yourself; follow the steps I wrote down," Jia Fuhai said, pulling out the steps he had recorded.

It wasn't that complicated; Jia Fuhai had already done the mechanical debugging, and the Hans Mao machines were practically made for lazy people.

The entire process was mostly controlled by a computer, so now he just had to focus on how to add ingredients and check the final result.

Jia Fuhai watched her from the side, and since this was an experiment, he couldn't help, so Linna had to do it on her own.

Luckily, the factory was well-equipped, and Zhen Linna could use the tools to handle the heavy ingredients.

The steps she needed to follow were clearly written down, such as the mixing ratios and which option to select on the control panel when adding specific amounts of ingredients.

Jia Fuhai had already written out the optimal ratio of ingredients, baking times, and temperatures.

Soon Zhen Linna's cake came out. Jia Fuhai quickly ran outside to taste it.

He took a bite and frowned. This was at most 50% of his level. Although it was good compared to what others made, he wasn't satisfied with it.

He quickly checked the monitoring system.

After observing for a while, Jia Fuhai couldn't figure out why it was different. Linna had followed all the instructions, so why was the result so much worse?

Could it be that the system added an extra level of flavor?

There was no other choice but for Jia Fuhai to go in and try it himself, not thinking too much, just following the exact steps Linna had taken.

The result was about 70%. Jia Fuhai thought for a moment...

He had no choice but to stop looking at the steps and do everything again in detail by himself.

This time, the result was 90%.

He started directing Linna to try the steps again. After several rounds of testing, Jia Fuhai figured it out.

It turned out the machines were also a factor; the results could vary depending on how often the machine was used. If he wanted the flavor to be perfect every time, he needed to pay close attention to the process.

Jia Fuhai also optimized the steps. For example, after the machine did one round of baking, it would adjust the time and temperature for the next round to ensure the best flavor.

Of course, this was all built into the machine's program. Outsiders wouldn't understand unless they were familiar with the system.

After all the trials, Linna's cakes reached about 65%, but she couldn't improve much more.

In the end, Jia Fuhai stopped there.

Even someone without culinary skills like Linna could make a cake with a 65% flavor, which was pretty good.

As for him, he was able to achieve 85%-90% consistency with some variation.

That was quite satisfying. Based on his calculations, store-bought cakes usually only hit around 5%, so this was already great.

"I've got it!" Jia Fuhai had a sudden flash of inspiration.

He could grade his cakes!

For example, 50%-60% would be one star, 60%-70% would be two stars, and so on. His own batch, produced in bulk, would be a four-star cake.

Such a clever idea! By grading the cakes, he could make more money.

"Sea Brother, you've made so many!" Zhen Linna also came out and looked at the pile of cakes. Even someone who loved sweets like her thought it was too much.

"It's fine. Think about it: we used just a thousand pounds of ingredients and made this delicious food. This is already pretty efficient," Jia Fuhai said nonchalantly. Most factories would use tens of thousands of pounds to make something, so his results were already great.

"Let's go; we'll take some to Uncle Zhou and his staff to try," Jia Fuhai said as he prepared to deal with the cakes. It looked like there were enough to feed nearly a hundred people.

They headed next door to give some cakes to Uncle Zhou.

After greeting the receptionist, they went straight to the break room, which was shared by both the boss and the staff. They were now quite familiar with Uncle Zhou, and Jia Fuhai had met most of the staff.

Since there wasn't much to give away, they decided to let Uncle Zhou try first, then they would give some to his employees.

"Uncle Zhou," Jia Fuhai greeted as he walked in.

"Ah, Sea Brother, come, have a seat, have some tea," Uncle Zhou replied, not bothering to stand since they were already quite familiar with each other.

Jia Fuhai and Zhen Linna quickly placed the cakes on the table.

"Uncle Zhou, please try this cake and let me know what you think," Jia Fuhai said as he handed a cake to Uncle Zhou.

"This looks good," Uncle Zhou remarked as he examined the cake before nodding.

The cake Jia Fuhai made was a rectangular honey cake with no other fancy flavors for now. He would experiment with other types once the machines were ready.

Uncle Zhou opened the packaging and was immediately hit with the delightful smell of honey and bread.

"This fragrance is amazing," Uncle Zhou said as he smelled the cake, feeling his mouth water. He knew that just this fragrance alone could compete with other factories.

Without waiting, he took a big bite.

The taste was incredible.

Uncle Zhou's eyes lit up, and he quickly devoured the entire cake.

"So, what do you think, Uncle Zhou?" Jia Fuhai asked, smiling.

"It's delicious, really delicious! Sea Brother, this cake definitely has a market!" Uncle Zhou said, reaching for more.

"Wait, Uncle Zhou, try this one too." Jia Fuhai quickly opened another cake and handed it over.

"Huh?" Uncle Zhou was confused but took the second cake, bit into it, and immediately entered "greedy mode" again.

Watching Uncle Zhou eat so ravenously, Jia Fuhai nodded in satisfaction.

The first cake was the 50% version, and the second was the 65% version made by Linna.

"Are you already offering two flavors?" Uncle Zhou asked, shocked. Was Jia Fuhai really a natural-born food factory entrepreneur?

"There's more," Jia Fuhai said as he handed over his highest-quality cake.

Uncle Zhou immediately grabbed it and took a big bite. After finishing it, he sighed dramatically, "This is just... too, too good! Sea Brother, I'm going to live off your cakes from now on."

Seeing Uncle Zhou so enthusiastic, Zhen Linna spoke up, "Sea Brother, wouldn't it be even better if you made it yourself? These were made by the machine."

"Really? Sea Brother, you can do this? Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Uncle Zhou let go of Jia Fuhai's hand and grabbed more cake, devouring it.

"Uncle Zhou, slow down! We made a lot, you know," Jia Fuhai said helplessly as he watched Uncle Zhou become as greedy as Linna.
