You know, I used to think about entering the world of DC in my past life. Its characters and events seemed pretty cool and more mature to me, but after getting to know MCU I changed my opinion, a billionaire admits that he wears a suit of armour and flies to a foreign country on weekends to kill a dozen other soldiers, and not only does nothing to him, but he is praised by the whole country. Killing everyone's hero, it was weird, but compared to the Batman codex it was pretty fresh. But I got a little sidetracked. I wanted to be a member of the Justice League and feel like one of the defenders of the Earth, to be in the guise of Supes, Green Lantern or Flash in general it was quite pleasant childhood dreams. So, a few minutes ago, as strange as it may sound, I felt quite clearly like a wonder woman. Although there are a couple of SpongeBob characters that might fit here, but that's probably not the case right now. It all started when I was travelling on business. At the moment when I took a slightly above the rules acceleration the world around me shook and before I could hit the brakes the picture around me changed and I was flying through the air for a second with my eyes very much open and in a crouch as if something was steering. The sensation was unforgettable, especially considering that at the moment of transfer I managed to switch on time acceleration and everything lasted a bit longer for me than for others. At least the driver on the right didn't quite manage to sparodramatise my face quite well at that moment. Fortunately or unfortunately such a unique experience didn't last long as someone's jeep ended up in front of me. Having entered with my head into the rear window above the boot and having frightened the driver from what he pressed the throttle and crashed into the car ahead of me I considered my adventures to be over for the time being.

Using the flames hidden by the illusion, I melted the sharp glass ends of the boot and jumped away from the car. Seeing people's gazes literally sticking to such an interesting culprit of events I covered myself with illusion and moved away from the place where I was seen a second ago. Further I began to observe the reaction of the crowd and here it already amazed me. There was no shouting about mutants or anything like that, just a man standing relatively close to me at the moment of hiding came to the spot and waved his hand. After realising that no one was there, he sighed and moved on. The others did the same. It was a very strange reaction, as if for them it was something like unexpected rain in a good weather forecast, unpleasant but not critical.

I wasn't a fool of course and after looking around I realised that, although not too noticeable, things had changed. The buildings had a slightly different look, and some of the shops and cafes that I often passed in front of simply didn't exist or had a different appearance than usual. This led to some not-so-great thoughts. If I was in a different world, and the fact that it was a different world shouted almost everything, in general, if it was just an unpleasant coincidence, it was one thing, but if it was some comic event, then this city could soon become very hot.

Walking into a cafe a couple of neighbourhoods away from the scene I pulled out my phone and connected to the local network. After surfing it for a couple of minutes, I immediately came across a dozen articles about Parker and roughly realised where, and more importantly when, I was. Apparently this is a world close to or even the original KVM timeline, and I'm somewhere after the finale of the second spider, but not too much since the conflict between society and Parker goes only a couple of months. Looking at the information for the last year since the return I wasn't too surprised, at least while I was looking at the general summary of the countries economic and political situation. As I suspected the desire to bring everyone back at once just bent the whole society over and caused a sea of problems. After the click the world and especially rich countries sharply discovered the need for human resources and those who were not wanted there yesterday immediately became the best guests. Some countries simply disappeared and their territories were taken over by more fortunate neighbours. For example, the same Switzerland was emptied by 99,9% and there were only a couple of thousand people in the whole country, for whom that day was probably like a very spectacular horror film. Now there are quite a few conflicts in the world where the people of the country have returned to their places and learnt that the country is no more and their homes have already been occupied by people left to them.

In the near future, if someone from a multi-billion dollar company does not provide developments for agriculture, the planet will starve. People are often driven to reproduce by the fear of death, and when part of the population of the planet disappears before your eyes, this fear is closer than ever, so in these five years, people have managed to breed well and regain one and a half billion of the three lost because of the click. To be honest, after gathering some of the information I realised that the first three or four years were like a utopia. There was twice as much food for that number of people, jobs were always available, and housing dropped in price to ridiculous amounts. The government of all countries simply became terrified of the alien threat and decided to set aside their contradictions, because today you can threaten your neighbour with a missile, and tomorrow you and your neighbour may simply not be together. For the first time in the history of mankind all the heads of the countries really united, yes it was not a triumph of friendship, brotherhood or goodness, they were united by fear, but fear so powerful and great, so comprehensive that it bonded everyone better than shackles of adamantium.

Two years ago the boundaries of states had been cancelled altogether and the land had not long become one. Looking at it, I could somewhat understand the notorious six months ago faction fighting to unite the land. Now the world is slowly, but rather purposefully returning to the old model of society, where there is no common concept of an earthling. Those for whom there was no fear of Thanos have returned to the world, those who disappeared from the old world only for a moment, but returned to something else... alien. Although man can adapt to any conditions quite successfully, but if there is an opportunity he will try to return everything to the familiar, to the place where he knows how the environment works, who is an enemy and who is a friend, where his home is and where is a stranger. The returnees don't have the same unity as those who have lived these five years, it's too short a time for them and they simply can't understand how people came to what they are now.

Although I have nothing against the protests about the new Captain America in the form of Falcon. After all, this is nonsense of the highest level, why would a man who has wings and his own style of combat using firearms from a height to give melee weapons, and a shield? It is created for battles in enclosed spaces, and what in such places to do a soldier oriented on air raids and the elimination of ground/air units of the enemy I can not understand, excuse me in any way. Yes, considering that the second option was a hired assassin with a very long blood trail and a long time working for the Russians it's understandable why he wasn't considered, but for me a man with wings flying in the sky with a shield is something that should have happened only after the Avengers got drunk for one night, not on a national level for the rest of Sam's life.

After watching some more of the superhero news, I nearly spit out my coffee. I realised that Wanda and her metal friend in the Finale were not asexual, but that Vigen could relieve tension so well I had no idea. The news that sad and irritable Wanda took a whole town of children hostage, brainwashing people and holding them captive for months took me a long time to digest. I mean, I could understand some breakdowns, but this is clearly outside the realm of "ordinary misbehaviour". If she's doing this now, what comes next is scary to me, especially considering her breakdowns in the comics. Wanda is now wanted all over the planet, and if she's found, she's looking at a life sentence.

Deciding that I might have to stay in this world for a while, and that becoming a burglar, while not too difficult with my abilities, was beneath my millionaire's dignity (said the creature that robbed vampires to their pants), I decided to check my family's accounts. My father had told me a long time ago about the two dozen spare cash stashes the family had for emergencies, of course I was sure there were over a hundred of them, but I wasn't poor myself at the time, and I didn't care about my father's monitored cash reserves. Having checked all the lists, I found only two working and in this world accounts with a total face value of a couple of million dollars. For temporary residence in this reality, that's quite enough.Leaving the coffee shop, I walked out into Times Square and saw a live feed of a battle between a local spider and an Octopus. I probably wouldn't have been particularly interested in it, as the new villain for the third Spidey film wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but he was fighting Maguire's Octopus, who literally hadn't changed costume since the second film of the first trilogy. After thinking about what I saw I immediately realised that now I had a concrete thread to why I was in this world, because if there are people from other worlds related to the spider, there is a 70% chance that Parker here was the culprit of my unplanned holiday with them in this world. Listening and realising where the battle was taking place I opened a portal as close to the scene as possible and headed towards the battle.

Unfortunately, when I arrived at the overpass, neither the spider nor Octavius was there, but I saw the back of the Green Goblin flying away in the sky, which convinced me of the correctness of my conclusions. Having broken the address of Parker's place of residence I went to his house, but I learnt that he hadn't lived there for a month already, which, considering the part of "good" public opinion poured out on him on the net, was quite a right thing to do.

Having bought a laptop at the nearest shop I rented a hotel room and started monitoring the net, if more villains from the spider universes arrive here, in the modern age of fancy phones and cameras it will become public knowledge pretty quickly. After waiting all day I was disappointed by the emptiness of the New York info field, no, the battle on the overpass had been covered from all sides, but there was nothing new. Having ordered dinner and a couple of glasses of coffee in my room I continued to watch the events in the city and only in the evening of the next day I finally found the coveted report from one not unknown in many worlds man J. John Jameson. He was not afraid to show the devastation at one of the rich apartment complexes, where he said Parker is masterminding new villains for his heroic activities. Fortunately, he gives the address of the complex at the very beginning of the report, so grabbing my jacket from the table I was able to quietly open a portal next to a building familiar in geography, but not at all in its current appearance.
