Chapter 58 - Meeting Satou Kazuma

— — — — — — —

"Hmm... Hmmm...Huh??"

As Renzo walked past a table where two people were seated, a certain blue-haired girl glanced at him absentmindedly. The next second, her eyes widened in shock as if struck by lightning.

"Wait! You there! Hold on!"

Aqua suddenly stood up and quickly chased after him.

"Huh?"

Hearing a familiar voice, Renzo turned his head and saw a certain blue-haired goddess rushing toward him. Then… she crashed straight into his chest.

Renzo barely managed to catch her.

Thankfully, he had a strong physique; otherwise, he might've been knocked over.

"Oh my, isn't this our esteemed Goddess of Water, Lady Aqua? What brings you here?"

Of course, Renzo knew exactly why Aqua was here, but he decided to play dumb, feigning surprise.

To be honest, despite Aqua's idiocy, she had an undeniably great figure. Hugging her felt nice 😊.

"Looks like the original plot still happened. Makes sense, though. This idiot mistook me for Satou Kazuma before. That must mean Kazuma also got reincarnated after all."

Thinking that, Renzo turned his gaze to the approaching Kazuma.

"So, this is the so-called 'The LoliNEET Kazutrash'? Hmm… not bad-looking, but compared to someone as handsome as me? No contest."

"Uh! Sorry about that!"

As soon as Kazuma arrived, he immediately bowed and apologized. "This friend of mine is a bit… well, let's just say she's not all there. I apologize on her behalf! Please don't take it personally!"

Then, he turned to Aqua and whispered urgently, "Oi, Aqua! What the hell are you doing? Can you not cause trouble for me?!"

"Sorry again!" Kazuma bowed repeatedly in apology.

Gotta say, the guy seemed pretty polite at first.

Of course, that wouldn't last.

Still, at least he wasn't a bad person. Just a little… unhinged.

"It's fine! Lady Aqua and I actually know each other!"

Renzo grinned before glancing down at the dazed goddess still in his arms. "Isn't that right, Lady Aqua? You still haven't answered my question. What are you doing here?"

"Ahhh!!!"

Aqua wasn't listening at all. When she snapped out of her daze, she suddenly clung tightly to Renzo's arm, her face lighting up in excitement. "It really is you! Brave Hero Renzo! You're here too! Thank the gods!"

She felt like she had been saved!

Only she knew the suffering she had endured after getting dragged into this world by a certain 'someone.'

And the worst part? The other gods actually allowed it!

Could you believe something so ridiculous?

"Oi, oi!" Renzo looked at Aqua with a deadpan expression. "Weren't you the one who sent me here in the first place?"

"Oh! Right!" Aqua suddenly remembered.

Then, her expression changed again. With tears in her eyes, she grabbed Renzo's arm with one hand and pointed at Kazuma with the other, sobbing, "Boohoo! Renzo-kun, you have no idea how awful this guy is!"

"I was so kind! I told him about his past life, helped him reincarnate as a hero, and what does he do?! He drags me down with him! I got pulled from the heavens, just like that!"

"And you won't believe it! This idiot—he died because he tried to save a girl who wasn't even in danger! Then he—"

As she ranted, she started exposing all of Kazuma's embarrassing past.

"Oi, oi! Aqua!" Kazuma couldn't take it anymore.

He rushed forward and covered Aqua's mouth, glaring at her in panic. "If you keep talking, I swear I'll never let this go!"

"Ehehe!"

Then, he turned to Renzo with an awkward smile. "Uh… sorry about that. So, you're another hero chosen by Aqua?"

Kazuma was very curious about Renzo.

At the same time, he was also a little hopeful.

After all, they were both reincarnated heroes. Maybe they could help each other out.

Also, he had noticed Renzo's elegant yet imposing sword. His eyes lit up as an idea formed.

He immediately asked, "Is that sword the item you chose from Aqua's offerings?"

To be honest, Kazuma had long regretted his own choice.

He never should have taken Aqua with him out of spite.

If he had picked an actual ability like Renzo did, his life wouldn't be such a disaster.

At least then, he wouldn't be broke and unable to afford his adventurer registration fee.

Was there a hero more miserable than him?

"Nope." Renzo shook his head with a chuckle.

There was no way he'd waste his choice on an item when so many overpowered abilities were available.

Even without his 'Creation' ability, even without his knowledge from past experiences, he still wouldn't have made such a dumb choice.

"Huh? It's not?" Kazuma was stunned.

"Of course not!"

Before Renzo could reply, Aqua finally freed herself from Kazuma's grip and eagerly explained, "Renzo-kun chose an ability called [Fantasy Creation]! It lets him create anything he wants using mental energy! Of course, that depends on how much he has!"

As she spoke, she glanced at Renzo's sword with curiosity and surprise. "Wait… did you make that sword yourself? It looks incredible!"

"But how? That must've taken a huge amount of energy! Don't tell me you weren't an ordinary person before reincarnating?!"

Aqua was intrigued.

Come to think of it, she had never asked about Renzo's past life.

Plus, now that she thought about it, back in the reincarnation space, Renzo had mysteriously disappeared for a few seconds.

She had forgotten about it until now.

But that place was the reincarnation space of the gods! Only deities should be able to disappear there unnoticed!

She suddenly stared at Renzo with suspicion. "Wait… don't tell me… you were actually a god all along?!"

"Eh?"

This time, it wasn't just Kazuma—Renzo was also taken aback.

"Where the hell did that idea come from?"

He was speechless.

If he were a god, why would he need to reincarnate?

That said, at this rate, reaching godhood was probably inevitable for him. How far he could go, though? That was another question entirely.

"Because… well…" Aqua hesitated.

She wanted to mention how he vanished in the reincarnation space, but then she realized that might expose her own screw-up.

She couldn't let Kazuma find out about that.

Renzo rolled his eyes. "Anyway, I'm just a regular guy. If I were a god, I wouldn't have died and ended up here in the first place."

"Oh… right!" Aqua laughed awkwardly.

Then, she suddenly grabbed Renzo's arm, looking desperate. "Hey, Renzo-kun! Your ability is 'Creation,' right? If you can create a sword like that, then surely you can create money too?! Lend us some cash, please? We don't even have enough to register as adventurers! We'll pay you back once we start earning!"

For the first time in her life, the great Aqua, Goddess of Water, was broke.

And now, she had to beg her own chosen hero for money.
