ROMAN'S POV
The music blared through the hall, a mixture of different songs blending into an overwhelming cacophony. My face hardened as I maneuvered through the crowd, my eyes locked on my personal assistant. I could feel the weight of the Elders' stares burning into my back. They didn't need to say a word—I already knew they were sensing something was wrong. But for fuck's sake, I didn't care about them or their suspicions right now.
I reached my PA and leaned in, lowering my voice so no one else could hear. "I'm leaving," I whispered. "There's something I need to take care of."
His eyes widened, shock flickering across his face, but like the obedient little soldier he was, he only gave a small nod. He knew better than to question me, at least not here.
