Chapter 109 - Chapter 109

In addition to selling magic boxes, the system actually had several other things for sale.

Resurrection Coin.

The reason why Luke didn't trust this thing was because the price of the resurrection coin was clearly marked: $1,000 per piece. It was really... too cheap.

A thousand dollars for a life—can you believe it?

Therefore, Luke dared to bet his little penis that there had to be something fishy about this broken thing.

Another example was Celia's handmade cakes, which were also sold in the system mall.

The price wasn't expensive, just $50 per piece, and their size and taste were identical to the ones taken out of the magic box. Luke had tried them and felt the taste was mediocre at best—not as delicious as expected. At most, they could be considered military rations.

What Luke cared about the most were the expensive gift packages in the system mall.

The gift packs appeared irregularly and in different forms. After more than a year of observation, he found that the refresh pattern seemed random. However, during every festival, the system would definitely sell gift packs.

Each gift package was available for a very short period. The shortest was only sold for one day, and the longest he had seen lasted just a week. It all came down to luck—whether you could come across one and whether you could afford it.

He wouldn't even mention the price—it would bring tears to his eyes. The cheapest gift package he had ever seen was priced at a staggering $1 billion!

Luke deeply felt the malice of the system. He couldn't help but suspect that this damn thing existed just to exploit him.

"You have a system, so what do you need all this money for? To wipe your ass?"

Luke was too exhausted to complain.

So, up until now, he still hadn't gotten a chance to peek inside one of these gift packages.

But according to Ross, each gift pack contained at least several epic-tier items, including awakening skill books, powerful formulas, equipment blueprints, and other goodies. Luke drooled at the thought.

But envy wouldn't get him anywhere—he had to work hard and make money.

He had been considering selling arms and ammunition to earn some extra cash. The $10 million he had spent on medicine was nearly gone. Christina had reminded him multiple times that he was in financial trouble.

Cutting costs was out of the question. Christina had launched so many projects, and each one required massive funding. Some of the major key projects weren't profitable in the early stages, but overall, the figures were astronomical.

He had to find a way to generate income. If he didn't, he might not even have milk for breakfast soon.

"What should I sell? Selling finished products is better than selling technology outright. Should I follow Stark Industries' example and go into arms manufacturing? That's a complicated business. If I really want to do it, I might as well find a partner. Justin Hammer's in prison picking up soap, so should I try acquiring shares in Hammer Arms?"

Luke had an open mind and a wild imagination. He had a lot of ideas, but who knew if they were reliable? Only experiments would tell.

He knew himself well—after all, he had been a homebody in his previous life. He didn't even know how to trade stocks, let alone operate a capital empire.

"Luckily, I have Christina to help me. Otherwise, I'd be completely lost. I really envy those omnipotent protagonists in stories." Luke sighed. "People always admire others, even time travelers. I might be the disgrace of time travelers."

Right on time, his takeout arrived.

The store owner clearly wanted a 50% tip, so he enthusiastically delivered twenty servings of pizza.

Of course, Luke couldn't let him walk up to the house—his adoptive parents were still watching TV downstairs. So, he climbed out of the window, jumped down, and sneaked out to meet the delivery guy.

Under the streetlights, they exchanged money and goods. In the middle of the night, it felt like a shady deal for some kind of illegal powdered milk.

When Luke returned, the Four Roses immediately surrounded him, chattering excitedly. They really hadn't had a good meal in a long time. The four girls devoured the pizza with shining eyes, praising the taste.

Luke ate a few slices and found them just okay. Seeing how hungry the four girls were, he couldn't help but feel a little sorry for them.

"Am I really their general?"

Looking at them, Luke was still contemplating this question.

In DNF, he did have a male Ammunition Specialist, but his equipment was a bit miserable. He had a set of four Time Trails for Ten Thousand Years but was missing one piece.

"Could these four girls be my Black Rose Special Forces, a small ammunition unit that traveled through time and space from the game? That's too crazy..." Luke found it hard to believe.

But then again, wasn't he a time traveler himself? He had brought all kinds of game skills into reality and mastered them. If his Black Roses had also traveled through time to find him, then why not?

After thinking for a long time, he still couldn't figure it out. Luke shook his head and laughed.

"Whatever the case, the Four Roses have joined the organization now, and they're my people. Don't worry, I won't let you suffer anymore." Watching the girls wolf down their food, Luke silently made a promise.

Half an hour later, after the Black Roses had eaten their fill, Luke clapped his hands and said, "It's time to establish a name for the organization."

"Organization? Aren't we called the Black Rose, the Black Rose Special Forces?" Anusika blinked her big eyes, confused.

"Of course, the four of you will keep your numbers. You'll always be the Black Rose Special Forces. What I mean is that, on top of that, as we move in this new world, we need a more resounding and intimidating name for our organization!" Luke declared firmly.

"What should we call it?" Rozanna immediately started brainstorming.

The other three girls also fell into deep thought.

Their general's will was their mission. As always, they would never question any orders from Luke.

Even if he commanded them to climb volcanoes, dive into the deep sea, or fight all kinds of monsters and demons, they would never hesitate.

When it came to making plans, Esmeralda was the best among the four. As for the other three... not so much.

As Anusika once said, "Our intelligence used to be stored in the fat on our upper bodies. But now that we've inexplicably turned into children, our IQs haven't returned, and the fat is gone. That's a huge loss!"

"The General is the true battlefield ruler of Arad. Why don't we call our organization the God of War of Arad?" Esmeralda suggested with a grin.

"Great idea!" Rozanna and Anusika cheered.

Olivia remained silent.

"God of Warr?" Luke's expression turned strange.

That name sounded unlucky.

"No, no. We can't use that. Do you want us to reserve a spot in the sewer?" Luke shook his head and waved his hand. "Change it, change it."

"The General doesn't like it?" Esmeralda sat on the bed, supporting her chin with her cute little hands, thinking hard.

The other three girls also pretended to think.

Luke smiled and shook his head. He figured that the more exaggerated the name, the better. But too exaggerated, and they'd become a joke.

A name should be meaningful and have a certain artistic flair.

Something like the Avengers—they existed to avenge extraterrestrial forces, and their name carried a lofty ideal. They were Earth's strongest guardians.

Even a weak team like the Defenders at least had a prestigious name.

Could his group really only be called the Short-Legged Alliance?

Luke immediately shook his head. "No way. That's too ridiculous. Since we've decided to only accept women, how about calling it the Eternal Pavilion? No, that sounds too old-fashioned..."

Nazarick? No.

Burning Army? Forget it.

Xiao...? Nope, copyright issues.

Then, suddenly, Luke had an idea.

"How about calling it the Hero Alliance?"
