Chapter 61 - Chapter - 58 Meeting [4]

"Fine show me pliable evidence of your proposal," Melkith remarked.

'It seems her greed got the best of her' Edward thought as he observed Melkith.

Her eyes seemed dilated, her breath was seemingly irregular, webs of intent which sprawled across the room quivered and altered in pigment.

Melkith's intent changed from a neutral gray to a more dominating dim yellow.

This vista of view was obviously only visible to Edward's perception.

"Fine," Edward replied with a light gesture to his shoulder.

Melkith watched the intervention with high anticipation.

Swiftly a spur of vastly powerful frost essence escaped from Edward's flesh and into the room.

Currently, in the form of spiritual essence, Gracias hovered around the room. His consciousness reconstruction manipulated the frosted energy into a humanoid shape strikingly similar to his corporeal form but with notable differences.

The spirit king is portrayed that of a youthful sage, or of a cultivator from a Xianxia world.

Though his form took that of a majestic entity, Glacias's power exertion has been strictly budgeted. Most of his spiritual output was mostly catered towards his physical appearance.

Needless to say, it was impressive.

Manifesting completely, Glacias stepped onto the finely polished marble floor. His first step was silent, producing no noise.

Adjusting the look of a few minor details Glacias stood side by side with Edward, who paid no heed to his arrival, and gazed towards Melkith.

Both presences emitted an aura of nobility and wisdom.

Melkith watched the whole proceeding, with a curious gaze,

'This was unexpected?' Melkith retorted inwardly

Most if not all spirit kings, take the physical form of their respective element.

It was a matter of pride to the spirit kings, for example, the spirit king of earth, Yhanos takes the form of a cumulation of earth spirit energies, and as such he looks the part of a golem.

The more powerful Spirit kings held a greater presence, Glacias was an outliner, he cared not for such details, and opted to do whatever the hell he desired.

Looks to him were of high culture in human society. And as such he desired to always look his best.

"Glacias,"

[Edward?]

"Care to greet this fine woman?"

[...]

Moving his gaze to Melkith Glacias greeted himself with a simple exchange of complex runes.

Edward had no knowledge of any of the runes being exchanged but was able to deduce as much by reading the flows of intents exchanged between both parties.

The complex runes glistened as rays of sunlight penetrated through the crusted window, the natural ambiance from the outside was suppressed by the spiritual presence isolated within the office, and countless domains of elements wafted through the air, exchange after exchange.

One message would be sent to the other, which in return would be retaliated by a barrage of loopholes the other wanted to induce.

Each party was included for the best deal for themself. Indeed Edward's offer of contracting Melkith with Glacias may seem enticing by a third party, and it was so, rather Melkith was stunned by the compensation Edward sought.

He desired not wealth.

neither power

Or any teachings from the white tower?

But rather, a very controversial topic…

Although Melkiths mind was clouded by desire and greed, this intervention was swiftly nulled with Melkiths prolonged age, indeed Melkith seemed the part of a young maiden in her late twenties; this was merely a facade, her true age was well over seventy.

Melkith was not a naive rigid minded youth who would fall for such antics, and as such nulled the discord toiling her mind.

Tens of minutes came and went of deliberate exchange and offer,

Eventually, the deal came to a resolution.

Yet though this whole ordeal Edward remained Mulish with what he yearned.

Giving up Melkith had finally obliged with Edward's offer, and as such Edward accepted her own.

The deal was as follows.

Edward was to become a central mage within the White Tower while also allowing her to satisfy her desire to contract with Glacais, Obviously, Edward received the spirit king's consent throughout the whole strife.

As for what Melkith granted, it was only her full support to grant him permission to enter the Royal Library of Akron from the council.

Quite the ask,

Edward was essentially asking for a chance to enter one of the most prestigious libraries in the world. Where only wizards who had proven their worth as the zenith within their respected fields were privileged to enter.

This place is the royal library of Aroth. It is also the place where the essence of Aroth's prided magical knowledge is stored.

And to be frank, Edward gave less than two shits for such nomenclature. The only reason why Edward desired to enter Akron was due to the immense sum of knowledge he and Glacias could diligently embark on… well mostly Glacias, this was the main reason why he obliged to such a nonsensical plan, it was for the knowledge.

Edward had one following reason as to why he desired to enter Akaron

He wanted to meet his foster brother Eugene.

If I may, I will be frank.

Just realized this, but in Damn Reincarnation the author calls mages Wizards.
