Chapter 59 - Chapter - 56 Meeting [2]

Gaping towards the dullen colored door, I cautiously scrutinized the blue-haired senor.

"May you give me a minute to prepare,"

The senor considered

"Make it quick," she said slightly begrudged.

Hearing her confirmation I sent a telepathic message to Glacias.

'Glacias,'

No response

'Glacias'

[...]

Yet no response

'Glacias'

[...]

'...'

I was in a stalemate, Glacias obviously heard my message but opted to ignore it, this was undesirable, to say the least.

'GLACIAS!' I bellowed internally.

Finally, the Ice Spirit king himself replied with a lazy tone.

[what Edward?]

'Took you long enough' Edward spoke before continuing ', I need your help'

Edward glared towards the door with an indifferent expression.

"Let me see," Glacias said, his voice echoing in my mind as he manifested in a humanoid form beside me.

To the common man or mage, the view of Glacias would merely be a hazed outline with a slight perversion of the surrounding temperature. The exception to this would be for exceptionally talented individuals to lay their gaze upon him, to those lucky enough to be blessed with spiritual prowess they are granted the ability to channel mana within their eyes. Meaning they are more or less gifted with the ability to view past the copious veil around spirits.

[It seems you're in quite a predicament,] Glacias mused, crossing his arms and stroking his chin in amusement. [I can see why you impeded my studies; I can detect the spiritual presence of the Lightning and Earth Spirit Kings behind those doors.]

'I already know such information, but nevertheless, I require your assistance for a different matter'

[As in?]

'That sultry woman most likely summoned me for one of two reasons if not both' Edwards reasoned before continuing ', the first and most likely and most simple'

'It's probably due to the inhumane levels of frost essence continuously channeled through my mana pathways and muscle tissue, or, in other words, our contract,' I replied deadpan.

[and the other?]

'the second reason is slightly more complicated,'

[which is] Glacias pressed

'I'm getting there,'

'the second reason while being slightly more within the realm of fiction still holds some stance,

' to put it simply I used fake documentation while receiving the highest scores on the White Magic Towers application test,'

[...]

'...'

[I don't, or can't understand, why that would be a bad thing, I'm not exactly an expert on human affairs]

Listening to Glacias words I further explained.

'in other words, it may seem as if I'm simply mocking the tower'

[Oh, I see,...]

[But how does this entail my help?]

'I need you to manipulate my soul's appearance' Edward said slowly.

[do you know what you're asking?]

'I do,'

Looking towards Edward Glacias hesitated to utter a response. It was a sensitive subject for anything and the obvious underlying error in syntax with such a statement.

For a mortal to comprehend anything relevant to the structure of their soul, it was a necessity for that said individual to have a grasp on the decay…

Of Death

The contradiction of life, the very simple concept

Of the end of life,

The abyss of true self,

What are you?

How are you?

Who are you?

A person's fundamental core of self.

From memories of joy

And others in which we suppress.

Most who experience this become mad, others fear it to such a degree they choose to feign oblivion on the matter.

That's why the subject is so controversial.

[so you know,] Glacias said choosing his words carefully

'I know, and currently, I'm blocking their perception of my soul, but it won't last much longer.'

[to be frank, I don't want to do this, but since I'm already contracted with you I'm more or less obligated to help]

I nodded at the response and performed a movement within my decrepit decayed soul to allow for his entry.

Feeling the presence of a foreign spiritual entity within my soul, I was finally ready.

"I'm done," I said to the sky-blue-haired senor in a deadpan voice.

She merely gazed at me with confusion and pity.

Delicately, she pressed her index finger against a specific, intricate mark embedded in the door's surface. As she did, a pulse of her mana flowed from her fingertip, a shimmering essence that infused the door with a faint glow.

With a low rumble, the doors began to respond, acknowledging her manas signature.

The Tower Master is ready to meet you," she announced
