Chapter 6 - Welcome to Incheon

The school that I would be attending for my first year of middle school was Incheon Middle School. It was known to be a lawless place, filled with delinquents and unsavory individuals. It was a wolf's den, if the rumors were true — a precursor to the lion's den that was Incheon High School.

A place fitting for my needs. Hopefully there would be some useful pets to tame there. I would need a couple more hounds in this place, in order to not waste my time with the other low-level grunts that infested Incheon and focus on the bigger threats.

Before the semester starts, I plan on scouting out the surrounding area. I'll have to know in-depth the different gangs and powers in Incheon to clearly grasp what I'm up against, and who my first prey is.

I put on a black blazer and walked outside, and was greeted with the warm sun shining on my face. It was a beautiful day in contrast to the dangerous place that Incheon was said to be.

I was already getting glances from people, a new face that the local vendors and townspeople didn't recognize in their morning routines. But when I started making my way towards the more secluded areas, I started to notice a stark difference.

The way people walked and looked around, alert and with a purpose. There were a scarce amount of people here, but the ones who were hugged their belongings just a bit tighter, and weren't here for a long time unless they had nefarious intent.

"Do you know where you are, kid."

Like this thug in front of me.

He stood heads taller than me, towering over my elementary school frame. He had a leisure grin on his face, his two goons sneering like they were in some kind of stereotypical manga.

"Just passing through."

He chuckled.

"You're not from around here, so we'll let you off easy this time."

He put his hand on my head, ruffling my hair with his giant palm. Even for a highschooler, he was a huge.

"But you'll have to pay the toll fee if you want to get through our turf, kid."

I grabbed his middle finger from the top of my head, and bent it the wrong way with a sickening crack.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"

He recoiled instantly, screaming in pain and tears welling up in his eyes. I jumped into the air and twisted, slamming the bottom of my foot into his chin with a spinning heel kick. His body crashed onto the concrete, knocked out cold.

"I'm sorry, this is my first time in Incheon. I just moved here."

"What was the toll fee this dumb fuck was talking about?"

His goons that were sneering at me seconds before, now showed the same expression that I was familiar with back in Yeongdeungpo. Fear.

But it was only for a brief moment, before one of them snapped out of it and threw a wild punch.

"You think you're hot shit 'cause you sucker-punched Geon-Wu? I'll give you a proper greeting to Incheon, you little fuck."

It was too easy to dodge. He overextended, having to force his body not to fall after throwing all his weight into that sloppy punch.

I didn't give him time to correct himself, exploding my fist where his kidney would be. Spit flew from his mouth as the air was knocked out of him, before he crumpled onto the ground with a painful groan.

I did a small running start before slamming my foot against his face like kicking a football into a soccer goal. His eyes faded into unconsciousness instantly as blood sprayed onto the concrete from his broken nose. I turned to the last one.

"What about you? Aren't you going to give me a proper greeting?"

He bowed at a 90 degree angle, his legs ramrod straight, faster than I could blink.

"WELCOME TO INCHEON, BOSS!!"

Donald Na was keen on cleaning up all the rebel forces of the territory Romeo had left him, thinking long and hard about how he wanted to continue forward with uniting Yeongdeungpo.

Even though they were expanding quickly, the rest of the schools still viewed Manwol as the big bad around the area. With a seemingly bigger fish around, they still had the courage to bark and bare their teeth at him. After he broke those daring teeth against his fist, however, the problems didn't stop.

People needed both a carrot and a stick in order to ensure their loyalty. The stick, was already known to them — there wasn't a single one of them that could touch his clothes, let alone Romeo. But he can't be everywhere at once.

So he looked toward the universal thing that all men want. Money.

*SMASH*

The sound of glass shattering interrupted his thoughts for a moment. The boys were doing their jobs properly, easily shattering the glass of a high-end car before unlocking it from the inside, doing a quick search and robbing it of its valuables.

The boys he and Romeo picked up from the streets were useful, having that hunger and drive in them that was suited for work like this, but it would only get them so far. They'd have to acquire more skilled individuals, with particular capabilities.

He rounded them up and took them to meet with Myles, one of the few that did have those capabilities, and to make sure the operation was done properly. There could only be one result — Myles knew what would happen if he fucked up.

The commissions were getting more and more higher level and difficult, but it was nothing that they couldn't handle. It was worth it, despite the risks — the pay was something that none of the kids their age could ever get so quickly.

Donald had gotten into contact with a potential business partner, so to speak. A snake of a business man that is keen on using underhanded means in order to acquire real estate, as well as get a head start over rival companies.

*ring, ring*

Speak of the devil.

"What can I do for you, Mr President?"

Donald had an inkling of what the old man wanted with him. There was only a slight moment before Chungil Lee's voice responded through the other line.

"Just the young man I wanted to speak to. I've heard the latest operation was a resounding success, like always — you and your associates have proven to be trustworthy in your efficiency."

This only confirmed his suspicions.

"Of course, Mr President. I'm glad we've shown ourselves to be trustworthy to you, but it's nothing that you have to call me yourself for, even though it's much appreciated."

The old man wanted to move him to the big leagues, to tie him and his colleagues to Chungil Lee's thigh, with a full contract, instead of commissions.

"Oh no Donald, that definitely warrants me calling you specifically. You see, I'm here to inform you that you've proved yourself more than capable for more.. sensitive, work. One that needs to be handled by people of a certain caliber. And you've proven yourself, to be of that caliber."

There it is.

"I appreciate the offer and opportunity immensely, Mr President, but unfortunately we're not cut out just yet for higher level work. I'd definitely be open to it, however, after we're finished.. expanding."

He could hear the snake-like businessman smirk through the phone as he amusingly responded.

"Oh? Unfortunate, but respectable. And what should I call you after you've finished with your expansion?"

Donald allowed himself a small grin.

"Chairman Na."
