Chapter 48 - Chapter 49: Continuous Face-Slapping

The Nine Nether buff grows stronger when the host is injured.

However, this enhancement doesn't only benefit Lin Fan—it also grants all monsters affected by the buff an attack boost, while simultaneously causing them to lose their sanity.

At this moment, Lilian noticed this too.

"Master, be careful. The Serpent Lady has gone berserk."

"I know." Lin Fan leapt back a few steps, creating distance between himself and the surrounding zombies. He quickly ate a loaf of bread and drank some water, restoring his hunger and thirst to full.

The three health bars he lost earlier began to slowly regenerate.

The Serpent Lady's eyes glowed a blood-red as her long tail whipped around. She slithered toward Lin Fan with reckless abandon, completely consumed by the Nine Nether buff's effects. Her attacks became wild and chaotic.

Lin Fan's gaze darkened as he cautiously observed the Serpent Lady.

The Nine Nether buff granted attack bonuses to both him and the monsters, making it a double-edged sword.

Although the current situation seemed balanced, more monsters were converging toward the center of the Nine-Story Monster Tower.

If this dragged on, Lin Fan would inevitably be at a disadvantage.

He needed to act first and gain the upper hand.

Drawing his iron sword, Lin Fan carefully positioned himself before charging out from the midst of the zombie horde.

A moment ago, these zombies could have blocked Lin Fan, but now, with the enhanced Nine Nether buff, they were no longer capable of stopping him.

The Serpent Lady's blood-red eyes locked onto Lin Fan, and with a wide-open mouth, she lunged straight at him!

So fast!

Lin Fan's heart skipped a beat. He hadn't expected the Serpent Lady's speed to increase this much under the influence of the Nine Nether buff!

If it weren't for the countless battles he had fought in the Nine-Story Monster Tower, he might have already fallen prey to her bite.

After narrowly dodging her attack, Lin Fan glanced at the shattered mossy stones left in her wake, his expression complicated.

To defeat the Serpent Lady, he needed to identify her weakness.

The Serpent Lady wasn't a creature from the original Minecraft, so Lin Fan had no prior knowledge of her weak points.

However, there's an old saying: "Strike a snake at its seven-inch mark."

Perhaps the Serpent Lady's weak point lay there.

Although this was just a guess, it was better than aimlessly dragging the fight out.

With a plan in mind, Lin Fan began to cautiously close the distance between himself and the Serpent Lady. As he moved, the monsters in the tower's center also followed him.

But unlike before, these monsters couldn't keep up with his speed anymore.

This made it easy for Lin Fan to shake them off and approach the Serpent Lady.

Lin Fan darted from the western side to the eastern side of the tower. By then, most of the monsters had failed to keep up with his pace.

One by one, they crowded together, getting stuck in the tower's center.

At the same time, the Serpent Lady was momentarily isolated. Seizing the opportunity, Lin Fan gripped his iron sword tightly and charged forward.

Though the Serpent Lady's speed was incredible, her massive size made it difficult for her to catch Lin Fan.

Lin Fan moved quickly from side to side, making it nearly impossible for the Serpent Lady to track his movements.

This back-and-forth movement only enraged the already frenzied Serpent Lady further. She let out furious roars, as if she intended to tear Lin Fan apart.

But no matter how she tried, she couldn't touch him. Lin Fan darted around her like a flea, evading her every attack.

The faster Lin Fan moved, the more frustrated and agitated the Serpent Lady became. Her attacks grew sharper but increasingly disorganized.

Watching her chaotic strikes, Lin Fan carefully calculated his next move. Slowly, he began maneuvering toward the Serpent Lady's head.

The Serpent Lady, lost in her berserk state, didn't notice Lin Fan's intentions at all.

Her mind was consumed by a singular drive to attack.

And that was exactly what Lin Fan had been waiting for.

This fierce exchange quickly caught the attention of onlookers.

"What's happening? It looks like the Serpent Lady just got triggered."

"Their speed is insane—I can barely keep track of them!"

"Holy crap, is that even human? I feel like I can't see anything clearly at this point."

"And the Serpent Lady only has eyes for Lin Fan. She's completely ignoring the rest of us."

"God-tier battle. I'm out—I'm not sticking around for this!"

"Wait, the Serpent Lady even punched through the walls. Can Lin Fan really take her on?"

"Not necessarily. Lin Fan's been dodging all this time. It looks like he's at a disadvantage."

"So what do we do? Should we step in and help him?"

"Are you insane? With that speed and ferocity, if you jump in, you'll just get yourself killed."

The crowd watched Lin Fan with bated breath. At this point, the smaller monsters had stopped targeting them entirely.

Possibly influenced by the Nine Nether buff, they all began shambling in Lin Fan's direction.

Lin Fan noticed this too.

He knew he had to reach the Serpent Lady's weak spot as quickly as possible. If the smaller monsters all converged on him, he'd be finished.

Still probing cautiously, Lin Fan inched closer to the Serpent Lady's seven-inch mark.

The crowd watched his every move with pounding hearts, fearing he'd slip up and meet his end in the next second.

Lin Fan's movements quickened, his steps becoming lighter and faster. While staying wary of the other monsters, he continued closing in on the Serpent Lady.

The Serpent Lady let out a furious roar, confused and enraged that her incredible speed couldn't catch Lin Fan.

By now, her patience had run out. Losing interest in toying with him, she lunged straight at Lin Fan with everything she had.

And this was precisely the opening Lin Fan had been waiting for!

A gleam of determination flashed in his eyes. Gripping his iron sword tightly, he stepped on the head of a nearby zombie and leapt high into the air.

The iron sword glinted with a silver light, a faint purple aura swirling around it—an enhancement from the Nine Nether buff.

Aiming at the Serpent Lady's seven-inch mark, Lin Fan drove the sword downward with all his strength.

Watching this, Li Cheng, nursing his severed arm, chuckled coldly.

"What an idiot. The Serpent Lady has 500 HP. What good is a single strike going to do?" He sneered as he watched Lin Fan.

"Using so much effort just to deal with a floor one boss of the Nine-Story Monster Tower? One desperate strike might take off a few dozen points of health. Does he really think he can solo the Serpent Lady?"

Li Cheng's voice carried loudly, echoing through the tower. Everyone inside heard him.

Though his words annoyed them, they couldn't deny he had a point.

The Serpent Lady's HP was 500 points. Even with all his effort, Lin Fan could only land one hit.

If the fight dragged on like this, how long would it take for Lin Fan to win?

No one believed Lin Fan could defeat her.

"Pfft. Lin Fan's such a fool."

"Does he really think he can solo the Serpent Lady?"

"Just because he got the first 100 monster kills in the Nine-Story Monster Tower, he's gotten cocky."

"He doesn't seriously think he can one-shot the Serpent Lady, does he?"

"As if! If Lin Fan one-shots the Serpent Lady, I swear I'll livestream myself eating crap!"

Amid the mockery, Lin Fan remained undistracted. Leaping high into the air, gripping his iron sword tightly, he locked his gaze firmly on the Serpent Lady's seven-inch mark.

Finding the perfect moment, he thrust the sword downward with precision and power!

In a split second, the Serpent Lady collapsed. Her massive body vanished into the depths of the Nine-Story Monster Tower.

The crowd: ???

"Holy sh—?! He one-shotted her?!"
