Silver sat in front of her vanity mirror, her long hair cascading down her back as she gently massaged a luxurious moisturizer into her skin. The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated her features, making her skin look even more flawless. She sighed, watching her reflection, remembering how her life had changed so drastically in the past few months.
She picked up a jade roller and slowly ran it over her face, her thoughts drifting.
Just as she set down the jade roller, her phone vibrated against the wooden surface of the vanity. She frowned, reaching for it. An unknown number.
Her first thought was Ryder. Maybe he had gotten a new number and was calling to manipulate her again. The thought made her blood boil. Without hesitation, she picked up and prepared to unleash her anger.
"What do you want—" she snapped, but before she could finish, a deep, velvety voice cut through her irritation.
