As soon as Sumaya and Olivia stepped onto the school grounds, Sumaya instinctively reached for her hoodie, tugging it up in an attempt to pull it over her head. But Olivia was faster. With a sharp tug, she yanked it back down, her grip firm and unrelenting.
"Oh, no, you don't," Olivia warned, arching a brow. "Try that again, and I swear I'll take this hoodie off you myself."
Sumaya scowled, gripping the edges of her hoodie like a lifeline. "I can't help it. It's… a force of habit."
"Well, that's a habit we're about to change," Olivia declared, flipping her hair over her shoulder with dramatic flair. "Honestly, why do you insist on hiding such a gorgeous face under that thing?"
Sumaya shot her a flat look. "Flattery won't change my mind."
Olivia rolled her eyes but didn't press further. Instead, she simply looped their arms together, linking their hands as they weaved through the crowd of students.
But Sumaya's attention drifted elsewhere.
