One of the women replied, "You can do it within the settlement."
The women then gave him directions to a place within the settlement where he could bathe and relieve himself.
However, he wasn't happy about it. The bathing area was somewhat open, and people could see him while he bathed.
What annoyed him even more was the group of small children watching him bathe as if he were some kind of museum exhibit to be studied.
When Maya heard his complaints, she just laughed, which made him frown.
"Sorry, sorry. It's just that this is how things are here. Everyone thinks separating genders isn't necessary," she said with a playful smile.
Still frowning, he replied, "I've changed my mind. I'm leaving here as soon as possible."
She turned to look at him. Ash's tendency to change his mind suddenly was nothing new to her.
