Chapter 5 - Moving

We spent our first days in the streets of the citadel, but it didn't take long to realize we couldn't stay there. It was crowded, noisy, and dangerous—definitely not a place for two skeletons trying to disappear. People stared too much, and the tension in the air was suffocating. We needed to leave.

That's when I heard about Snowdin—a small town far from the citadel. Quiet, secluded, and buried in snow. It sounded like the perfect place for us to hide, away from prying eyes and curious questions.

The journey to Snowdin was long, exhausting. We had to cross almost the entire Underground to get there. The tunnels were dark and winding, and every step felt heavier than the last. I carried my brother most of the way when he grew too tired to keep walking. He didn't complain, though. He never does.

When we finally arrived, Snowdin greeted us with its icy embrace. The cold surprised me, though it didn't hurt us. Being skeletons, we don't feel the chill the way others might, but seeing the snow for the first time was... strange. Beautiful, but strange.

The town itself was small and quiet, just as I'd hoped. Perfect for disappearing. The people didn't seem to notice us much, and even if they did, they didn't ask questions. That was enough for me.

We've been living in the streets here since we arrived. It's not much, but it's better than where we came from. Snowdin feels safer, calmer. For the first time, I think we might actually have a chance to build something here—a life, maybe, even if it's a simple one.

I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but for now, we've found a place to stay. And for that, I'm grateful.
