Still busy with my paperwork my door swung open, I didn't bother because I could tell it was Emma because of her scent.
"I want to reach out to my family," she declared, standing in front of me with both her hands resting on her waist.
"I promise I won't live with them. I just want them to know I'm fine and also get to check if they're doing the same."
I hesitated immediately. "No, Emm, You signed a contract. You can't just go back on your word."
(Don't be a fool! They are family!) Kane argued, (I promise I will take over now if you are going to push our mate away.)
Emma took in a deep breath, "You would do what I want, I am your mate, and you still haven't rejected me. If you don't agree, I will accept your rejection, and there's nothing you can do about it."
I stood there, taken aback by Emma's words, the way she stood before me I could tell she meant every word she had just uttered.
