Layla stirred awake in the hospital bed while she felt a constant beating pain in her head. She tried to open her eyes, but before she could do that, her brain got flooded with the most dreadful memory of her life. She felt a deep tightness in her chest as it was getting hard to breathe. Sweats started to color her forehead.
"Miss… You are okay. Open your eyes; I'm here." Jenny said while she caught the attention of her struggling self. She caressed her forehead while pouring soothing words into her ear. How ironic, she herself was freaking out more in reality.
Layla suddenly opened her eyes wide and Jenny could see the fear dancing in those beautiful orbs. She didn't have an actual idea about the reason behind her current state, but after seeing her pale face along with a bandage over a part of her neck, she got a hunch.
"Mi-Michael…" Layla's voice was next to inaudible, and if Jenny hadn't looked her way, she would have missed her moving lips.
