Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: Horror Game

Murray then sent his men to kidnap Letao's adopted daughter, intending to threaten Letao into handing over the treasure. Letao, whose magical abilities were shallow, was unable to resist Murray, a wealthy and powerful man. Ultimately, Letao was forced to surrender his family's treasure.

However, Murray did not honor the agreement that had been made. After obtaining the treasure, Murray sold the 15-year-old girl to Epstein, a notorious criminal, to be used as a tool for the gratification of important people.

When Epstein was eventually investigated by the FBI, it caused a major uproar in the United States. The girl was rescued along with other victims. However, the suffering she endured for years had shattered her mental state, leaving her insane.

With the help of the treasure, Murray Anthony finally succeeded in practicing the mysterious heavenly magic that had long been his obsession. On the other hand, the Letao Feng family was destroyed: the daughter suffered from mental disorders and committed suicide, while Letao himself eventually went mad in despair.

For Murray Anthony, the tragedy of the Letao Feng family meant nothing. What occupied Murray's mind was only the mysterious power that was now in his grasp—a power that he viewed as a path to greater power and glory.

Murray stood in front of his villa, gazing at the magnificent Stark Manor. His eyes were filled with ambition, and he silently encouraged himself. However, the atmosphere changed when a strange voice began to be heard.

A song.

The voice was soft, yet clear in Murray's ears, like a whisper creeping through the silence. The song sounded foreign, but it had a haunting rhythm. Murray frowned, trying to locate the source of the sound.

"Who is singing?" Murray muttered uneasily.

Murray's bodyguards also appeared restless. They exchanged glances and began to check their surroundings.

However, the world around them seemed silent. The night wind blew gently, but there were no signs of anyone's presence.

Suddenly, they saw the figure of a girl. The girl walked slowly towards them, dressed in a neat school uniform. Her steps were calm, yet every movement she made carried an indescribable aura. On the ground, bright red flowers bloomed in her footsteps, as if growing from nothingness.

At the girl's waist hung a small silver bell, swaying gently with her steps. Each time the bell rang, the sound of the girl's singing became clearer, bringing a chilling atmosphere that pierced to the bone.

The guards appeared confused, unable to move or divert their gaze from the girl. However, Murray Anthony quickly reacted. He pointed towards the large red flowers growing at the girl's feet.

"When did this type of flower bloom at the villa?" Murray asked with a tone of wonder he couldn't hide.

"Sir, there should only be a lawn here..." the captain of the guards said with a trembling voice, rubbing his eyes hard. Yet, even though the man's eyes felt sore, the scene before him did not change. His eyes reflected the bright red color of the sea of flowers that now surrounded them.

In the seemingly endless sea of bright red flowers, the sweet-looking oriental girl appeared to walk calmly, as if walking on a sea of blood.

Ding... ding... ding...

The sound of the silver bell hanging at the girl's waist rang out clearly, merging with her light footsteps. The bell seemed to guide the rhythm of the gently swaying sea of flowers, following her movements.

Then, the song coming from the girl's mouth changed.

[Turn it, turn it, flower string,

Wrap it around your finger, tie it perfectly.

Pull the thread, form a pattern,

Its twists are funny, making you laugh.

You turn the big chicken feet,

I turn the noodles one by one.

You turn the wide fishing net,

I turn the funny bathtub.

You turn the airplane parachute,

I turn the scissors and the flower vase.

Turn, turn it, let's give it a try,

Test your skills with joy!]

The previous songs were in Mandarin, and none could understand them. Now the songs sung in English were immediately comprehensible to everyone.

However, instead of bringing them relief, the understanding of the lyrics only added to their horror. The lyrics sounded innocent, like a children's song, but the cold aura creeping from the girl's words made their hearts race.

Under the watchful gaze, the little girl continued to walk closer. Her face was adorned with a sweet smile, but her dark eyes seemed to reflect no light. The girl stopped right in front of one of the outer guards, tilting her head innocently, and said, "Uncle, let's play with the string!"

The guard was frozen, his body seemingly unable to move. The girl's words were simple, but the tone of her voice and the smile accompanying it sent chills down his spine.

Murray Anthony, standing a few steps behind, stared at the girl with horror that slowly turned into deep shock. Suddenly, a long-buried memory flashed in Murray's mind, like a lightning bolt in the dark night. The girl's face...

"You..." Murray stammered, his eyes wide. Murray's breath felt heavy, and he unconsciously took a step back. "Aren't you dead?" Murray exclaimed with a trembling voice.

It was a face that Murray could never forget. The girl was the adopted daughter of Letao Feng—who had committed suicide. Murray knew this for certain, as he himself had orchestrated the tragedy that befell Letao's family. But now, the girl stood before Murray, alive.

The girl seemed not to hear Murray's question. Her smile remained fixed on her face, as if the question were unimportant. Slowly, she pulled something out of her pocket.

A red string. The string looked simple, but somehow, there was something eerie about the way the girl held it. The string shimmered oddly under the moonlight, as if covered by something invisible.

The sweet smile on the girl's lips remained the same as before, soft yet unsettling, as she spoke again to the frozen guard, "Uncle, let's play with the string!"
