Chapter 165 - Chapter 164: Eliminating Spider Abilities

With the unfortunate Peter, who had turned into a spider monster, Electro and Doctor Octopus walked into a laboratory.

Three figures, dressed differently but looking quite similar upon closer inspection, were busy working in the lab.

These three were Mr. Octopus from a certain universe (actually another version of Doctor Octopus, but distinguished from the warrior version), the Extraordinary Dr. Octavius from the Extraordinary Universe, and a female Doctor Octopus from another universe (not the female Doc Ock from the Ultimate Universe).

The repair of the mechanical Doctor Octopus was the result of their combined efforts.

Among them, Mr. Octopus was actually a companion of the RoboCop Spider-Man from his universe.

That universe had a purely mechanical aesthetic, where all inhabitants were entirely mechanical beings — not cyborgs, but truly composed of pure mechanical structures.

It was precisely under his leadership that the mechanical Doctor Octopus was fully restored.

Otherwise, with only the technological prowess of the Extraordinary Dr. Octavius and the female Doctor Octopus, restoring the mechanical Doctor Octopus would have taken more time.

"Hello, Captain Max, please place him on this platform," Mr. Octopus said politely.

The mechanical tentacles behind Doctor Octopus extended, placing the struggling spider monster onto a platform.

Clack clack—

Metal clasps immediately extended, securing the spider monster.

Even though the creature had six arms and two legs, the metal clasps still matched the number of limbs precisely.

At that moment, the short, plump middle-aged female Doctor Octopus had already taken a syringe from a nearby sterilization cabinet and was walking toward them.

"Roar roar—"

The spider monster struggled fiercely, baring its fangs.

Its body was enormous, standing at about 2.7 to 2.8 meters tall, covered entirely in tough black hair. Its head barely resembled a human, with sharp spider-like mandibles extending from both cheeks, always ready to bite.

Even more bizarrely, six additional eyes adorned its forehead.

"Tsk, this one really looks terrifying... The mutation is way too advanced," the middle-aged female Doctor Octopus commented while preparing to inject the syringe into the spider monster's arm.

Despite the creature's horrifying appearance, the experienced and powerful female Doctor Octopus showed not the slightest hint of fear.

Bang!

Her mechanical tentacle clamped down, seizing one of the spider monster's arms, rendering it completely immobile.

Then, the syringe was plunged directly into its arm.

A vial of blood, bright red with a hint of blue-green, was drawn out.

"Whoa, has he completely turned into a spider monster?" the middle-aged female Doctor Octopus exclaimed.

"Should we hand him over to Connors for analysis? Which Connors is available?" suggested the Extraordinary Dr. Octavius.

Mr. Octopus's electronic eyes flickered as he replied, "Let's analyze the sample first and send a message to all Dr. Connors. Whoever is available can take over."

"Alright, let's do that," said the Extraordinary Dr. Octavius, walking over to a machine and typing out a message before sending it off.

"We'll leave him to you guys," Electro said, pointing at the spider monster bound to the table.

"No problem, but let's register his information first. Do you know anything about him?" Mr. Octopus asked.

"Yes, I've learned a bit," Electro nodded. "His name is also Peter Parker, most likely from Earth-6078. If possible, please remove his powers entirely."

"Hmm? Eliminate his powers? Is that his own request?" the middle-aged female Doctor Octopus inquired.

The request to eliminate powers is actually not uncommon.

Not every Spider-Man from every world wants to be Spider-Man; some people actually prefer to live a normal life.

Since greater power comes with greater responsibility, if one does not have that power, they naturally don't need to bear that responsibility, right?

However, for most requests of this kind, Peter usually asks them to refuse.

Especially when it comes to the abilities of the more heroic Spider-Men.

This is because in some worlds, the original "history" required the involvement of a positive Spider-Man. Hastily eliminating them and changing the course of that world could lead to unnecessary consequences.

On the other hand, those who have turned into spider monsters or whose powers have gone awry can be eliminated with no pressure.

Because most of those who turn into spider monsters would eventually lose their powers or die for various reasons.

Since they're going to die anyway, what's the difference who ends up being the one to kill them?

"No," Electro shook his head, "It's the request from that world's Uncle Ben."

"Uncle Ben, requesting to eliminate his nephew Peter Parker's powers? Now that's something new," Dr. Octopus, the middle-aged woman, chuckled.

Electro then briefly explained.

Peter Parker from this world had actually been quite happy at the beginning.

After gaining spider abilities, Uncle Ben didn't die due to an accident.

Perhaps it was precisely because of this that he never fully embraced the responsibility of using his powers wisely to become a helpful superhero.

When he was short on money, he participated in underground boxing, and with his spider abilities, he was practically unbeatable.

How could an ordinary person possibly defeat Spider-Man?

Time passed this way.

Peter Parker from Earth-6078, who ruled the underground boxing world with his powers and made a fortune, didn't actually live a good life.

He spent all his money at bars, constantly flirting with different women, until Mary Jane, who had once been so fond of him, became completely disillusioned and left him.

He also stopped caring much for Uncle Ben and Aunt May.

It wasn't until one day when Aunt May tragically passed away in an accident that Peter from Earth-6078 began to wake up.

But he still didn't have the resolve to become a superhero. Instead, he revealed his "Spider Boxing King" identity to Uncle Ben and suggested that Uncle Ben become his manager, so he could enter the entertainment industry.

Using his "Spider Boxing King" status as his foundation, along with his handsome face and powerful spider abilities, he quickly became a superstar in the Earth-6078 universe.

However, he soon grew tired of this life and became irritable, losing more and more control over himself.

Uncle Ben noticed this problem and advised him to get checked out by a doctor, even secretly contacting a psychologist for him.

But Peter from Earth-6078 refused treatment.

One night, while lying in bed with two actresses, he suddenly realized that he had grown four extra arms!

Fortunately, the two actresses were too exhausted from being worn out by him and were sound asleep.

Upon discovering this, a panicked Peter fled his mansion.

By the time Uncle Ben found him, he had completely mutated into an out-of-control spider monster!
